My take

Nov 26, 2012, 9:32 AM

1) Chad Morris - not a good game called by him. Went away from the running game WAY too early. Quick slant was there all night, but we did not take advantage. When we needed to get the ball out of Tajh's hands quickly, we are dropping back to try to hit the 20+ yard pass. W.T.F.? Need to take advantage of what they are giving you. And did anyone else notice him on the sidelines during the 2nd half? While our defense was on the field for almost the entire 3rd quarter, he was standing on the sideline with his arms folded chatting. Poor game on his part.

2) Defense - pitiful. Need to just make ONE dadgum STOP on defense at some point, but instead giving up 3rd and 5s, 6s, 8s, 10s, and 12s repeatedly to let them keep the ball and keep our offense off the field. Unbelievable.

Yep, pretty much. That was a dagger in the back.

He!!, that was a dagger in the gut. We knew what was coming and STILL couldn't stop it.

D-line just a little bit, and it's no where to be seen.

That was the one thing I thought we really didn't do and that was keep an up tempo game..... I thought that would have put pressure on them. For the most part all night even early in the game we were snapping with ball with 10 seconds left on the play clock.

We substituted almost every play, which allows them to make the defensive substitution and I think that took away the advantage of being a hurry up offense, no matter how quick you are trying to be. The advantage of the hurry up is not allowing them to substitute.

I think Chad has called great games since he has been at Clemson with the exception of a few and Saturday night was one of those games. Passing across the middle was open all night as well and I don't think we hardly did that much at all. I can only remember about 2 or 3 times us throwing to the middle of the field, until late in the game when it was over.

Did Chad have a plan for Clowney at all besides letting our offensive linemen block him one on one all night?
