Bad, that’s a TERRIBLY coached football team. Mike Norvell really tricked the entire university into a boat load of money with two good years 🤣🤣🤣😭

Since the hissy fit for being left out of the CFP, they have only won one game. And it was against Cal, by 5.
The losses are by 60, 3, 15, 8, 27, 16, and 7.
The lost to Duke for the first time in school history. Ended a 9-game unbeaten streak against Memphis. Ended a 5 game winning streak against BC.
It’s really bad and quite shocking how far downhill they have fallen since the Jordan Travis injury.

Won 5 games by 10 or less, including 2 pts vs bc, needed multiple miracles to beat us in OT and, well, we know what happened vs uga.

We were 2-9 my freshman year and ranked 120 out of 137 teams. Alabama beat us 56-0 and the coots beat us 56-20. NC Stste and FSU beat us 45-7 and 43-7. The next year we were 3-6-2.
So yes, our down years were pretty bad too…

Didn’t see “recently” in your subject line. Those were our “down years.”

It was bad. But my Freshman and Sophomore year we won a combined 5 games. Fortunately, since then, we have not had back to back seasons worse than that.

Yup, was just about to bring that up too. Was my freshman year, and was rough though remember that final game against USuCk, and man that was a cold night, but worth it. Remember the goal posts coming down.

We were last in the nation that year (1975 which was my senior year) in defensive scoring at 35 points/game. Red Parker then hired Charlie Pell as a defensive coordinator and we shaved off 100 points in 1976 despite winning only one more game. That’s when the big turnaround at Clemson started. Charlie Pell became the head coach in 1977 and Clemson ended up 8-2-1 during the regular season.

for our lack of bad seasons. We have not had a truly terrible year since 1998. Even before our elite seasons we always put together a competitive team.

To be fair, half the FSU team opted out of the bowl game vs UGA.
IOW, it is unfair to use that game to de-legitimize their 13-0 regular season.

Our down years came because the better QB's refused to sit behind Trevor.

We had the same issue with DW. Everyone knew he was going to be our starter until he got drafted and Kelly Bryant was our best option.
FSU's down years are coming because they hired a guy who thinks money is the solution to all problems.
The firs step in identifying the problem is to figure out how it happened. Fix that before you fix the problem or you risk perpetuating the issue.
If a brick wall is cracked you don't tear out all the bricks and lay them again until after you fix the foundation.
FSU's foundation is settling because it's build upon the soft grounds of the NIL/Portal recruiting.
