Says it is updated daily. Wow and it just any credibility it had. Wha a joke that and ESPN are. They do not realize that the only reason people watch are because we have no other option for CFB. I no longer watch gameday.

This HAS to be some kind of glitch. No way in hell do they have Bama ahead of Ohio St.
Has to be a glitch, doesn't it?

This is a computer index-would like to compare last week to

this one, and see how the teams moved. Obviously, the SEC teams didn't move down nearly enough. Computer is biased too.

More and more on National radio is talk of 4 letter SEC bias and parity in college football. Shame you can't watch the games except on the 4 latter. But people aren't as dumb as the 4 letter thinks.

ESPIN and SEC Hype
Jan 3, 2015, 9:49 AM
|
|
Heres how it works
Bama Beat #8, #10 and had a good loss to #9 and #3 thus a #2 ranking LMAO
And of course just circle jerk it around for the other SEC teams.
Throw in a requirement that there a gazillion SEC teams in the Top 10 and that's how you do it!

and ESPIN would have them in the top 5. Because of many great losses to the great SEC West.

They use a formula to determine it.

This when they weight SEC teams more heavily it props up all of their wins and losses. At one point during the season I think they had 9 SEC teams in the top 15 of their FPI.
It is a huge joke and looks even worse now that we saw OOC games by these teams an then they still are top 10 after losing to another team that is currently ranked lower.

Here is the Harley rating of college football teams today:
1. Oregon (13-1) 2. Ohio State (13-1) 3. TCU (12-1) 4. Alabama (12-2) 5. Michigan State (11-2) 6. Florida State (13-1) 7. Baylor (12-2) 8. Georgia Tech (11-3) 9. Missouri (11-3) 10. Wisconsin (11-3)
11. Boise State (12-2) 12. Georgia (10-3) 13. Clemson (10-3) 14. Arizona State (10-3) 15. Mississippi State (10-3) 16. Arizona (10-4) 17. UCLA (10-3) 18. Memphis (10-3) 19. Kansas State (9-4) 20. Ole Miss (9-4) 21. Duke (9-4) 22. Louisville (9-4) 23. Marshall (13-1) 24. Utah (9-4) 25. Nebraska (9-4)
My evaluation is not perfect but it's a lot more connected to the real world than anything the ESPN pimps say about college football.

I thought the espn power rankings were based on fan votes? Could be wrong but that could be why they are so out of sorts.

When you have SEC ranked way too high all season long, even the computer metrics won't ignore it. All this computerized stuff has human input. The human input is wrong, the computer output will be wrong.

We should start accepting that ESPN is making an unabashed

business decision to influence perspective in favor of the SEC. They are financially vested in the SEC network. It would serve all of our sanity to just accept that they no longer have interest in objectively providing news and coverage of this sport. It is a shame, but it is what it is. Their commentators, polls, etc, should be taken no more seriously than a GM review on their cars' safety or UNC's internal investigation on academic misconduct.
I would be more than happy if the ACC aligned with Fox Sports or NBC Sports or whatever for their future programming, even for a slightly smaller pay. It would serve the sport well.
