ND joining the ACC has been a rumor and discussion for years now. Anytime ND hints that they might be looking to join a conference, the ACC is the most mentioned. The only hang up has been that the ACC won't accept ND unless they join with all sports. It will be interesting to see how much longer ND can hold on to its independent status with the way things keep changing. The BCS really made independents outdated, but ND still clings to it as if somehow keeping the old ways will bring back their winning days.
