ESPN cracks me up ignoring LSU's defense and dismissing

the four teams that rolled up at least 37 points. Two with 38 points, and Bama with 41 points. Four teams had at least 450 yards of offense. Ole Miss had 614 yards of total offense, Bama had 541 yards, and Texas 530 yards.
But, hey, it doesn't matter to ESPN. They just dismiss it as irrelevent.

Their last four games were against a really lousy Arkansas team, a mediocre TAMU, an offensively challenged Georgia and a very good Oklahoma offensive team. Hard to tell whether their defense really improved much against this so-so bunch. We shall see in a few hours.

They did a pretty good job on defense against Oklahoma. It's hard to say though how much the scoring being done by LSU impacted the Oklahoma offensive plan.

ESPN has their agenda whatever that is this year, most years espn hates LSU. As far as the D giving up big yards or points, it is a bit concerning but in most of those games your talking about fourth quarter blowouts, the outcome is determined, and backups are in the game.

LSU is the shiny new thing in the SEC

The narrative would be the same if vanderbilt was in your shoes. Plug in any SEC team and the narrative stays the same.

I believe the words from Rece Davis were, “it’s all pretty much the same. Except the one.” (There were two categories on D, Total and Scoring, where LSU is ranked lower than 25th.)
I wonder if it’s to annoy us out of jealousy or they really want to believe the horse hockey they’re serving.

Rece is a Bama grad so, I don't pay attention to anything he says. It's their job and they get paid well to spew that drivel.

Great post! Plus, we rank very highly in offensive metrics.

Chances are, we will score at least 30 points on them, and very likely more than 40 on them based on the less talented offenses who have scored that much on them.
I'm not convinced that our very highly ranked defense will give up more than 30, considering the fact that no one has come close to scoring that much on us this year.
Heck, we've only given up 20 or more twice (23 to Ohio State, and 20 to UNC). We have held 8 of our opponents this year to 10 points or less. I know LSU has a terrific offense, but I simply don't see them scoring 30 or 40 or more points on us.
Tigers will win, 37-27.
