End of first half debacle.

Oct 12, 2014, 8:55 AM

First down QB wasted like 20 seconds at the line. Third down a running back (freshman I think ) has to push the QB under center to hurry up and clock runs out. Not to mention that with no time outs the coaches are trying to send in a sub on that third down.

Coaches don't claim to be perfect. Dabo admitted that was awful. I think there are doing pretty a pretty good job all in all. Yeah, you can always find something the next morning that could have been done better.

So under coached that they knew the exact play that a so called offensive genius was running on the last play of the game. Wow our coaches suck!!!

Yeah I am pretty sure that was one of the parts Coach Swinney was referring too when he said he coached a poor game.

It was awful to watch but I am glad we have a coach who takes responsibility for his mistakes instead of pushing them off on the players.

Coaching had nothing to do with it

Am I the only one that saw Mike Williams standing wide open in the endzone?

Stoudt doesn't have good vision down field, and he's got to know if it's not there throw it out of bounds.

Nope he was wide open, and I was cursing up a storm...

The Cole scramble was the problem

Oct 12, 2014, 9:12 AM

That decision was squarely on him.

The long pass to the 2 was completed at 38 seconds
We then called a play and ran the first down starting at 23 seconds. that did take longer than it should, though the fade was a good call. He just threw it way too deep.

The rollout pass on 2nd was a good call, but he's got to know he simply can't scramble into the middle of the field there. That's a situation where you have to throw the ball into (or through) the end zone.

That play started at 17 seconds and ended at 10 seconds with the clock running. We did not, at that point, try to sub. No new players came in I don't think. It looks like it sort of because one of the linemen walks away a bit sort of frustrated looking like he knew time was running out before getting to run back to the line. The announcers were also wrong because the new "can't soike it under 3 seconds rule" doesn't apply to a running clock.
