DeAndre Hopkins, early favorite for ROTY

The praise for Houston Texans' rookie wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has been effusive throughout training camp. Houston appears to have finally found a legitimate running mate for Andre Johnson. It now needs to translate to Sundays. Some are already holding Hopkins to a very high standard.

Hopkins may be the preseason favorite to be named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

"Spending the day w/Houston Texans..talked w/DeAndre Hopkins after an awesome practice..I like him for rookie of the year," Pat Kirwan of CBSSports.com tweeted.

Hopkins continues to impress his teammates every day with spectacular catches.

The last wide receiver to win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year was Percy Harvin in 2009. Only three wide receivers have won award the past 20 years. Hopkins doesn't have to put up the numbers Randy Moss did in 1998, but he should be helped by the fact it was considered a down quarterback class in this year's April's draft. The last four Offensive Rookies of the Year, besides Harvin, were quarterbacks.

Dez Bryant, Julio, Nuk, and Danny Amendola. My friends laughed when I got Nuk kinda early. I'll laugh in the championship. And of course, they laughed when I got CJ at #5 overall. Dwyane Allen is my starting TE too. Clemson all the way baby haha
