I fully expect Dutch Fork to win the 5A state title, but I'm rooting for the winner of the Westside-Greenville game this Friday in the upper state title game to take it all. Regardless, the games this week & then the state title games should be exciting football to watch!

I based it on facts. US Census figures population 11,942. Persons under 18 20.4%.

I didn’t make a comparison between percentages of the population of these towns, so I don’t know what your game is. Of the native Dutch Fork population literally 95% are Clemson fans. There are two current Clemson players from Dutch Fork High school. Clemson’s first black player went to Irmo high school. Rodney Williams, who is tied for second all time for starting QB wins, went to Irmo high school. Us Dutch Forkers have always identified with Clemson over Columbia. So lol that.

These schools have students beyond what the census bureau calls Irmo. Add Ballentine, bits of Columbia, plus other areas.
‘Columbia’ is more than just the downtown area.
Not sure why it’s so important for you to claim an entire town as Tiger territory. I’m just stating the obvious when you talk population.

There are a ton of students at Irmo/DF who technically live in Columbia. Probably half, if not more.

If you don’t know the Dutch Fork area, then don’t speak on it. Columbia is not apart of the Dutch Fork area. We have always identified ourselves and have had a different culture that is completely separate from Columbia.

Little old Chapin in the same district is now 5A, Irmo has lost some population and now 4a. I’d say more Clemson fans around than gamecocks but you also have a lot of midwesterners bringing down Ohio state, Michigan, ND, and Wisconsin fans to the area. They’re going to need a new hs in the area before long with all the growth on Chapin side.
Majority of Lake Murray area are Tigers.

Lol. I graduated from Dutch Fork. My mailing address was Columbia. A LOT of what “feels” like Irmo is technically Columbia, from a census perspective.
