Drop the Furman game

And schedule one of the SEC teams also facing FCS that week. This helps viewership which increases our payout and gives us a chance competitively to win a meaningful game. On the off chance we win out, we probably finish around 16-20. One more quality win at least gets us in the conversation for that last at large.

We better just pray for a Furman win. Hate to break it to you but this team is not winning out.

Duke for one. They passed Dabo's program two years ago. Different coach now but still a pretty solid team.

Um…. Clemson is the reigning ACC champion. Duke not even in the game.
Duke
Has certainly improved, but no way has their program passed the tigers. That doesn’t mean they can’t beat the tigers, but the body of work shows otherwise.

If that atmosphere in Chestnut Hills last night didn’t get you pumped knowing the ACC added a 9th conference game and then the annual 10th game against South Carolina State or Furman along with increased ticket prices next year, then you belong in a morgue!

No. We need every win we can get. Scheduling a high powered SEC team for our opening is foolish. We usually don't win so why do it ?

I would like to see a non conference schedule of Furman, Georgia St,, and South Carolina and possibly our 9th ACC game could be against Cal.

Recruits gravitate to those types of matchups.

Won't this happen when the ACC goes to 9 games?

The team should only be playing one cupcake game a year anyway.

9 ACC games, 1 cupcake, 2 SEC games (or 1 SEC / ND)

We play these instate teams to boost their revenue. Our game funds their program, so it’s not going to happen.

We have 0% chance of an at-large. And if you are remotely serious about changing the schedule mid-season, you have claimed legendary idiot status on tnet.

Do you believe it’s 0% because we can’t win out? Or that our resume as a 3 loss team would not compare to others because of our strength of schedule?

I don’t think we win out either but I’m hopeful. There will be at least one 9-3 at large. Alabama finished ranked 11th in the last CFP ranking last year. They were 9-3 but 2 automatic qualifiers in Arizona state and Clemson jumped them.

Clemson doesn’t have a chance though and it’s because our remaining strength of schedule has fallen apart.

Because we got embarrassed by Syracuse at home and have 3 losses overall. No ACC team with 3 losses will get a bid over at larges in the SEC or Big10 with 3 losses.

Thats because our strength of schedule would be worse. I just came up with an unprecedented, innovative idea that improves SOS significantly while also generating extra revenue through potential sponsorship with neutral site game and NIL opportunities. Your welcome.

Unprecedented, yes. Impossible? Also yes.

Just because you have an unprecedented idea doesn’t make it a good idea.
