That our basketball program has had this much momentum?
In the last 7 years, we have done the following.
- renovated our facilities making us competitive from a facility standpoint to other acc teams
- been to a sweet 16 and an elite 8
- set a record for most acc wins in a single season
- beat unc on the road twice (once vs a very good top 10 team)
- have have our highest recruiting class under brownell coming in and one of our best transfer classes coming in.
- We have a coach that isnt ready to get out of dodge at the first sign of success (barnes and OP)
- we have a coach that by all accounts isnt cheating and wont get us on probation. (Obviously dont know that for sure, but i would be VERY surprised if something vame out like that)

The best is ahead. Brad is built for the NIL transfer portal ERA. When discussing brads success I always cut his tenure in half right at where you started… since the renovations we’ve been so much more competitive and it’s only getting better. Now our fans can see we have a coach that does know his X’s and O’s…he’s just lacked the intangibles…. keeping teams together, avoiding major slumps that ruin a season, good plays out of timeouts etc
He’s hitting on these things now

Some fair points but easy now though. It's only been a little over 15 months since the loss to Morehead State in the Not Invited Tournament.

I realize that most of our fans are clueless, but upsets happen in basketball.
If you want to learn something, go see how often 1 seeds lose in the first round of the nit.... spoiler alert, it nearly happens every year. Hilarious that you think our basketball team is immune to upsets.
If you bring up the morehead loss more than say, our elite 8 trip, then you probably are not a clemson basketball fan.

Didn't bother Al-Amir Dawes this year as a member of Seton Hall's team. They were legitimately robbed of an NCAA berth as many actually had them projected to make it in this past season, versus no one projecting us in the season prior ahead of our #1 NIT seed home loss (save for Brad, Neff, and homers). Dawes and Seton Hall overcame the 'hurt' and went on to cut down the nets in the final as champs.

We upset a lot of teams every year. Did i name every upset we had including the 3 wins in the tourney this year?
If you dont understand the historical significance of us beating unc at unc, then you might not be a clemson basketball fan.

Our willingness to invest in top shelf assistants was discussed for a number of years as something needed to be a great program. The LF always disputed this assertion yet when Dabo hired an OL coach for $1M per year the same people applauded the hire as necessary.

Do we prioritize additional spending for a program that was under-performing and in the red while the football program was generating a solid ROI, and we also needed to grow/expand other programs (softball, LAX, gymnastics, etc.) that would almost always run in the red.
I really believe Dabo helped convince the administration that he had a lot of what he needed and we could afford to prioritize both mens and womens basketball for the greater good and we are beginning to see those benefits.
What Dabo and the football program have done is lift all boats from their overall success. Hopefully, consistency can become a hallmark of our basketball programs as well, and justify the investments made.

Basketball was not underperforming based on our history. It was performing at the same historical level as always. If we wanted to improve, then additional investment was needed. We made the investment, and we can all see the results.

loss to BC on the heels of that late season skid remains at the forefront of his persona then we could indeed be looking at a historic stretch ahead. Less hands on hips mad glares and more 'no other basketball coach in America could achieve what I have here' attitude bodes well. We did invest $65 Million in the LJ renovations and new Team HQ so thrilled to see some ROI beginning to take shape.
Onward and Upward Brad and Tiger Basketball! Hopeful the best is yet to come.
