Doge cut 1.5 Billion, but didn't hardly touch the biggest 49% (military budget).

He cut federal workers who handle social security, veteran's benefits, and school lunches for the poorest of children.

Meanwhile, musk's company collects 15 to 50 billion dollars from the US government in subsidies.

I have an excellent idea for Dodge...cut musk and save 6x what Dodge has been able to scrape so far off the backs of the poorest people in the USA.

Isn't that what Jesus teaches us? Let the children and the elderly starve so the very richest among us can collect more?

Oh, but the deficit? LOL

Things could be done far better but denying the debt matters is a fools errand. Mark Cuban said he would slash federal spending but in a different manner.

The Nikkei hit 39K in 1989, over the next 14 years it lost 80%. It hit a low of 7900 in 2003. That was all over debt issues, so please do not pretend it does not matter.

25% of the current debt was from Trump's first term.

But since that didn't work, he is finding even more ways to transfer even more money to the wealthiest among us while stopping free lunches for poor kids.

If they really cared about the deficit, they'd charge the top 1% more, not grandma.

We've already had this discussion, you could confiscate the entire net worth of the top1% and run the Govt. for 6 years.

Everyone needs to be paying more but Mericans do not want to hear that, they want the other guy to pay it for them.

Military spending , all things DoD, accounts for 13.5% of budget. Not 49%, it comes in like 4th place. SSI, Health(Medicare/Medicaid), serving debt are top 3.

of inflation. 10 more points and we are insolvent. Don't worry, Trump is getting us there.

Japan is not a good analogy. The Japanese have never been consumers of garbage like Americans, so they haven't been able to grow GDP by making and discarding tons of crap.

The analogy is because of debt. Their debt overwhelmed them as ours is threatening to do here. So yes it does apply here.

It doesn't look the same at all. The Japanese government has a lot of debt but it's mostly held by the Bank of Japan. It also holds over 1 trillion of the US debt along with other investments. Their situation looks better than ours in a lot of ways. Shrinking population, but they don't have a horde of uneducated brain-dead morons choosing a dictator over democracy.

It's 49-50% of discretionary.

I would have done it similar to Clinton, but bigger in scale.

I'd go in with a 10% mandate for cuts, first day in office, by the end of the first year. But instead of letting the world's richest guy run roughshod, I'd get the inspector generals of each department and task them with finding the best 10% to cut. After fiscal year one, 10% less is paid, so they will have to find the cuts or it's across the board. They will find the waste. THEN, second year, same. 10% MORE cuts. Find it. Second fiscal year ends, third starts off 10% less. And fourth year, 5% cuts demanded, same thing. See, Trump is in Biden's last fiscal year, and Congress' last fiscal year until this September. Any new President taking office is in the fiscal year of the prior President/Congress until September.

AND THIS APPLIES TO THE MILITARY AS WELL. OH AND THESE ARE REAL CUTS, NO BASELINE BUDGETING CRAP.

And if after cuts, Congress continues to spend more with baseline budgeting, every penny goes to the US treasury to pay debt.

While this is going on, my first meeting with the 50 governors would not be an opportunity to ##### at the governor of Maine over gender in sports. Nope, I'd lobby all governors to undertake an Article V convention of the states, proposing ONLY two amendments, a balanced budget (in 10 years, which I'd be working towards myself), and term limits in Congress. 2 terms, each house. Every year I'd see all 50 governors in a meeting and expect answers/results on that. Just asking for a vote, nothing more or less. I'd probably put some governor with ambitions as the head of that effort too.

Then I'd end subsidies to all US crops/farmers that makes any food crop grown for human consumption, metabolized in the pancreas as glucose, gets zero subsidies. Crop insurance and agricultural feed subsidies can remain, but if it goes into a human, and it's sugar, complex or simple, grains, rice, honey, corn, some fruits....yeah, subsidies gone.

Oh get this, I'd END America's cane sugar tariff. It is 14%, or was if I recall, and it's solely why HFCS even exists.

These would be the biggest things I'd want to accomplish. Ambitious for 4 years. If reelected, by year 8 I'd hope we'd be spending at least 50% less, health would improve, and Congress would no longer be a bunch of spineless dinosaurs, and they'd actually do their job. Just how I'd do it. The right way, legally, Constitutionally, and we Keep America Great.

Actually the total cost is $2T, sad but true.

Totals cost includes direct military spending, veteran care and interest on money borrowed.

Every year, the richest person in every state should be sacrificed and their wealth distributed among the poorest. The rest of the year would be billionaires scrambling to distribute their wealth in an attempt to ensure that they aren't among those pushed out into the ocean next year.

Radical enough for you?
