Less than Furman does. At least Ga. So. is FBS.

If we cancel the game all together, we’ll jump Bama to the number 1 spot.

Yes you would jump Bama, but U decided to get beaten by Georgia Southern.
"IF" for some reason the Tigers win by 3 points you'll still drop.

You did the math wrong. Elite teams don't have to worry about Strength of schedule. Alabama has a cup cake schedule. If a has one. Honestly, we played A&M and we play the dirt pockets. That is strong enough non conference for the bean counters.

Benefits of playing the game
Sep 12, 2018, 7:58 PM
|

We won't get any 'credit' in the media for beating up on Georgia Southern, so the win itself will be hollow. However, there are other benefits to playing (assuming we win handily).
1) Stats matter. We'll have huge offensive numbers... WR receptions, rushing yards, etc. That'll matter for individual awards at the end of the season. And it'll matter when it comes to the record book at Clemson.
2) Revenue matters. Clemson will make money by playing the game. I don't know if the program can continue to operate losing 1/7th of its Dippin' Dots revenue.
3) Total Wins matter. Luckily we're not the Chickens and in need of a cupcake win to hit 6 wins to become bowl eligible. However, if we want Dabo to keep saying "Welp, we've won 10 games each season for the past X years" then we'll want this game as a little insurance.

The Clemson fans will all look good on ESPN2 losing.
All of them will oil up in lard and wax.

Personally, I graduated from Charleston Southern. We were often the underdog. But, still, we played. And before the games, I would talk smack like we were the defending national champions. I love it when fans from other teams come to TNet and talk smack. Bonus points when that team is a 30+ point underdog.
That said, you're probably ticking off a few people here. But not me. Keep it up my friends!

Stats do matter!
After the last 2 years GSU has made great strides on a comeback.
GSU beating the Clamsons will be the best stat this year.
