I think typically the team would have taken off the week of exams (which I think was last week) then start bowl practice the following week so it looks to be on that same track

Even a natty only gets 1 week of practice. 2.5 weeks seems like an eternity to be hanging out in Fernandina Beach for one game in Jacksonville's.

I'm not saying I agree or disagree but maybe Dabo wants to get some reps with early enrollees like Sammy Brown and have some time to get coach Luke and Rumph in the swing of things as I understand they will be coaching in the bowl game
That's just my guess

I didn't see your post below clarifying that you weren't talking about traveling early and not practicing....in that case, I don't know why they chose to go early

They traveled early and are practicing. It's one and the same. How much is it costing to put the team and staff up in Florida for 2.5 weeks?

Well if your main criticism is money, no sports team in Clemson history has earned more money for athletics and the school in general than football so who cares if they spend some to have the team in Florida for a bit longer than expected.
The team that earns the money should get to spend the money

The NCAA grants each bowl school up to 20 hours practice per week leading up to their game. The later you play on the bowl calendar, the more practices you can accumulate. The more you can keep your team in touch with your coaches, the less likely you are to lose some players to the portal.
