Does anyone think ND and Michigan flip in 2 weeks because of

ND's lack of playing in an extra conf. championship game of course assuming Michigan wins out? I think they could drop at least one spot.

Since ND beat Michigan earlier in the season it hard to imagine that happening if ND stay undefeated.

No, they have said the 13th game is just another data point.

Would generally agree but ND has a head to head win over Michigan.

ND beat Michigan with its backup QB. It would be ridiculous for Michigan to be ranked ahead of them.

I agree. Of the two, I think ND would be harder to beat. Michigan is great on D, but the O is pretty weak. We should be able to shut down Michigan, and while they have a great D, we would score on them. I would expect something like 24-6.
With ND, the O is much more potent. I still think that we would beat them, but I would expect a much closer game.

It depends on who ESPN picks as the weakest opponent.

If Bama loses to UGA and becomes the 4th seed then I predict ND will move ahead of us in the final poll cause ESPN knows that ND is the weakest of the remaining field.
Basically, ND and Bama will meet in the first round. That's what all this 'flipping bama and Clemson,' is about.

100% agree with ClemsonTiger1988 that it is completely about: 1. Getting Bama to Championship game 2. Making a matchup where they get either (a) Most likely to beat Bama or play it close or (b) biggest name opponent 3. Thus, since Bama destroyed ND a few years ago, I also believe that they will Michigan vs. Clemson if Clemson wins out, or Clemson vs. Georgia if Michigan loses to Ohio St.
Whether that means they flip #1 & #2 Clemson & Bama (see 2017 wk12) or flip the #3 & #4 team (see 2015 final wk to get Bama the easy win over offensively inept Mich St), they will tweak whatever is necessary to get what is best for television. And of course there is absolutely zero percent that will put a Georgia vs. Alabama in Round 1, if UGa was to upset Bama in SECCG.

good argument that Michigan is better than ND right now, but that's not what matters when it comes to the playoff rankings. ND is undefeated. ND beat Michigan. ND will be ranked ahead of Michigan.

is if GA were to beat Alabama in a close game. The committee will feel they HAVE to put them both in. Assuming ND and Michigan win out, who gets left out? Michigan. Would likely see:
1) Clemson 2) ND 3) Georgia 4) Alabama
