I heard sometime in the 80's? Saw it on a video made about the origin of the woo-hoo.

Close, as the woo-hoo actually started by part of the band in the 90's, but didn't really spread to the student section until after 2000. Not sure how the spelling started though.

I was there 80-85'

We definitely did it in that time period, but I don't remember if it originated during that time.

I have been gping to the games since the early 70's (i am 45 now). I am pretty sure we did it before the 80's.

usually the crowd chants it too fast during the C-O part. Each letter should be on the beat, skipping a beat before the "N".

That sounds right. I graduated in May of '83 and don't remember doing it as a student.
