Baseball is not like football. You can bench a RB for fumbling and he might hold onto the ball better next time. But if you bench a starting pitcher because he got hit hard one game the you could destroy his confidence in his pitches and ruin him. You just have to keep running him out there so he can hopefully regain his stuff. ALL pitchers have bad games. And many have bad stretches of games. It’s just the way it goes. That is why baseball is a game of averages. All stats are averages.
