Dillon Hunter is an incredibly poised point guard.

Especially for a freshman.
His assist to turnover ratio this year is 3.7 to 1.
In 203 minutes played this year, he has committed just 6 turnovers. That is one turnover for every 34 minutes he plays this year. Amazing!
I know we are still waiting on his outside shot to develop more, but he’s giving us outstanding defense and an ability to slash, two things we haven’t had at the point guard position in quite some time. These attributes, in addition to making good decisions and taking care of the ball, make him a rising star in my book.
Great job, Dillon! So glad you’re a Tiger!

7-32 from the field, 0-11 from 3. He has 18 points and 20 fouls and shooting 57% from the free throw line. There is definitely room for improvement and I’ll be rooting for him. I’m sure his 6 points yesterday was probably his season high so that should help with his confidence.

Yes, we are all aware that his offense isn’t where it needs to be.

That will come.
For reference, Hunter Tyson only made 25% of his shots as a freshman.

PJ might make money in europe but his chances in the nba are slim in my opinion. I think he is a good player and I root like hell for him but I dont see any reason why he would leave.

No chance he leaves. Slim to no chance in the nba and Europe isnt as good of an oppurtunity do him as college. PJ is a superstar in Clemson. Better to build his brand and cash in that mil money than go pro now

Definitely agree with that. All it takes is practice. Free throws should be pretty much automatic. Same motion every time. I think that will come with practice and dedication.

Agree he shows promise. But he passes up open 8-foot jumpers, though, as if he's scared to take a shot. I haven't really paid attention to his defense. If he's going to be playing more I will make an effort.
Seems he got more minutes yesterday after Beadle's travel. Beadle came out of the game, CBB said "Good job" with a look on his face that said it wasn't a good job at all. I don't think Beadle ever got put back in.

Rewatched the game. Beadle did get reinserted for a brief period after his traveling ooops. D Hunter's defense was just ok. Beadle's about the same. D Hunter did get on the floor for a loose ball. Beadle is faster and a better passer, but did get stripped for a runout. Neither moves noticeably well without the ball. Freshmen. Hard to say.

Hunter is a little smoother handling the ball than Beadle but I like the way both of them drive to the basket. Hunter seems to be a little stronger going to the hoop. They are also both very good at getting the ball inside to the post to get the offense started.

Dillon will be an all acc guard in 2 years. Mark that down. Despite him not shooting very well, he seems very confident. He shows great command when running point and he just doesn't turn it over. He has already made some incredible passes and shows he has good vision. He's good at finishing at the rim through contact. Shooting will come. All we need from him honestly is to take care of the ball, and unlock this offense like chase hunter does. His defense was lights out last night and will continue to get better. He kind of got exposed vs appleby, but that happens as a freshman.
He is a fantastic dribbler. He is so long, and can dribble so far from the defender guarding him. He also knows when to reign it in while dribbling in traffic. Look at 1:55 on this video. Padulla tried to guard him, but got put on skates. Look how far away the ball is from padulla(primary defender).

Great handle and looks great attacking the rim. Don’t like the look of the jumper. Let’s get it fixed, brad!
