It is great to see President Clements involved with recruiting

as I think it gives recruits a first hand look into who really runs the University, Coach Dabo Swinney. When they see Clements riding in his Toyota Camry to the run down house the University forces he and his family to live in, it shows prospective students athletes that we take football seriously, and the President of the University takes a back seat. His Job is more to stay out of the way of the football program, and sign anything a football coach puts on his desk, as it should be.
This commitment to excellence is not escaping the attention of the recruits, and that is great to see.

Just so long as someone monitors him to make sure he doesn't talk to prospective recruits during the no contact period everything should be okay with that.

President Clements knows how much Tiger Football contributes to the image of the University and the massive spike in applications in the last decade.
Doesn't take a genius to realize that whatever is good for Tiger Football, is good for Clemson University! Dabo has forced the nation to respect the paw. Doesn't hurt as a university president, that Dabo has also put a premium on education with a 99% graduation rate for seniors - clearly a symbiotic relationship.
