Do you think Clemson will be ranked #1 or #2 next Tuesday

in the first poll? (If we beat NC ST of course)
I believe it's 50/50. They look heavily on quality wins and SOS. We have the best win and a good SOS, much better than Baylor/TCU. They also look at game efficiency, which we may be the best.
No way we are worse than #2.

tOSU hasn't lost since the NCG , so they deserve to be called #1 until they lose ...as it should be .
We will be #2 after another solid win on the road . If we struggle and still win we will stay at 3 or LSU would jump us by beating Alabama handily .

And many would agree with you. I just feel that you have to take this year solely on its own merit.

I don't agree with it personally, but it seems to be a fairly common opinion that the previous year's champion should remain #1 until beaten, provided they return enough players off that team.
Based on what i saw from the committee last year though, they are NOT going to have that mentality. The rankings next week will focus strictly on resumes through the first 9 weeks of the season and will not take in account anything that happened last year or expectations for the remainder of this year. Ohio State will NOT be #1, and Baylor won't be regarded as highly yet either as they've beaten nobody of relevance. Provided there are no upsets Clemson and LSU will be 1/2 in some order. Beyond that i really don't know.

Probably #2......logically we should be #1 but there is too much OSU bias for them to put us into the #1 spot. If we destroy FSU and they don't lose anymore games then maybe we get ahead of OSU/Baylor with the voters. OSU is also looking better the past few games....hard to say.....

it's not the old poll mentality where you come out at 1, 2, 3, or 4 and can't move down as long as you win. Winning in itself is not enough. I do think we come out 1 or 2 next week(if we dominate State)based on how they will look at things-- but if we beat FSU and don't look good against the final 3+ ACC championship, we would be leaving the door open to slip to 3 or 4. Still think we are a lock for the playoff if we win out based on lack of undefeateds at the end of the year. And seeding really makes no difference IMO. In fact not so sure seeding last year wasn't done more to get the teams in the correct locations for draw.
