Do you really love your kid if you let them play someplace other than Clemson?

I was flexing my knowledge of CFB recruiting last night at the bar for a hot brunette that sat next to me. I don’t mean to brag, but I was on fire. She literally nodded in agreement to every point I made before ordering her second glass of Chardonnay to go. Anyways, I figured I would share my thoughts here as well.

If you had a kid (or adopted one based on their size and athletic ability), how could you let them go anyplace other than Clemson if you really care about them? Just look at the schools at the top of the current recruiting rankings:

Ohio State: Do you really want your kid to start wearing jorts before inevitably moving to SC later in life?

Alabama: The state is engulfed in fire ants and is susceptible to hurricanes AND tornados. Nobody needs any of that.

Georgia: 4th highest population of venomous snakes of all states. Half of the fan base has rabies and your kid is supposed to be learning college stuff, not training for the Indy 500.

Notre Dame: I’ve been to Illinois twice and came home with an STD both times. Sort of a humble brag though since they were the good ones that are cured with only a shot.

Penn State: This is a family site, so I’m not going to say what we’re all thinking. I would like add that they have freaking LIONS living in their mountains. No thanks.

Oklahoma: Is playing football really worth dying in a tornado for?

LSU: I’m old enough to remember Katrina. Your kid may not make it home alive and the food is WAY overrated.

It seems pretty obvious that the parents of the kids committed to these schools don’t really care about their children. Shame on them.

Unfortunately not. She said she had to leave because of an emergency she’d forgotten about when I was almost done breaking down our top 2026 in-state targets. I can’t seem to buy a break recently.

I think there was an undiagnosed STD that went to the brain and will require more than a shot.

I get the gist of your argument. You obviously don’t have kids. As much as my son walked in my shoes the first 13 years of his life; he did all he could to NOT walk in my shoes the next ten. Kids always want to build their own legacy. Well, not always. But, many will zig just because you want them to zag. Dad is the smartest person in the planet in a sons eyes until the son becomes a teen. Then Dad knows nothing. It’s kinda funny though, there’s a point where Dad becomes the smartest man again. It took mine until year 23 of his life. Dad, you were right about everything. One of the greatest moments of my life. However, the damage is done. He married woke. He lives in California. To see my grandchildren means taking a flight to California. A libertarians worst nightmare is a woke child. His passion lies in anime. I’m trying to set up for him to come to Clemson games and he’s trying to set up anime cons.

If he finds any good anime cons in/around Clemson during the season, let me know.
