Do we use Vizzina on Goal line?

Vizzina showed his wheels last Saturday. He is a much bigger body. We have seen CK2 go down pretty easily with arm tackles. Could CV be in the playbook for 4th & inches or for that goal line QB sneak? I know we have big Mafah but I could see this play for CV at critical points in the game.
Thoughts?

Yeah, I get that. But he just looked like a lot bigger body out there when he came in for CK2. Weights don't show it but visually. Everyone always talks about his ability to run and tend to hear that more than hearing about his passing.

He certainly liked to pull the ball down early and take off running.

I think he saw an opportunity right away and took it. He was very effective running the ball.

Should he try too punch from center over CK2? I almost think so?

My thought is it would signal to the D that we would run the ball so they would focus on the run which would decrease our chances of scoring a TD. The personnel or the formation are non factors if your OL can open a hole.

Maybe that’s when we throw it?

You prefer the backup QB throw the ball in a tight goal line situation instead of the starter?

Not as long as he has ball control issues.

How about Mafah with Sammy Brown as a lead blocker?

I think that could be the 2pt conversion scenario from the 2yd line. Our short conversions had been lacking and CV showed some running moxie.

How about Sammy Brown with Peter Woods as the lead blocker, makes much more sense.

I always thought we needed a QB who could take a snap right under center, especially at the goal line or fourth and shirt situations. We seem to always be in the shotgun formation these days.

Well that was kind of my thinking since it was a horrible hiccup last year with the Goal Line turnovers from Cade and Ship. But with the better looking OL, could that benefit the bigger QB?

Shotgun or under center makes little difference. If the OL can win the LOS means everything. Some think being in the shotgun allows the QB or RB a better look at the best open space to run through.

Under center is where I would expect the benefit. If it's RPO in shotgun, then keep Cade in. Hopefully that goal line offense doesn't rear it's head but thinking CV could add a different dimension.

Imagine this. If the QB is under center and takes the snap, they then turn left or right which commits the RB to that side of the line. In the shot gun, when the RB takes the handoff they can choose either side of the field. Of course, if a DL blows through the line, neither formation will work

But strong QBs have pusehed the puke, DJ definitely did in the past.
If CBK could push pile, then let him roll. But last year showed he had power issues. Maybe he is better. But maybe a 6" lean is not CK2 play?
Again just asking for conversation but our shorts stunk!

Not from under center and definitely not from the goal line stance. Carch up! Yes if we can play from the 5-10 then its the 'play-action" RPO, but if we are heaving a pile, Cade or Vizzina?
I coyld be wrong but I bet CV is a lot stronger, just look at body vs wt!

So CV fumbled two snaps out of shotgun now all of a sudden he’s going to be able to execute snaps under center 🤣🤣🤣🤣

No he fumbled twice on option reads like Cade last year. And still maybe this year God forbid.

This is certainly an interesting idea and makes since. we could even run the wildcat formation and mix it up with a pass occasionally because keeping a defense off balance is needed or it’s just another eccentric idea

Yeah, its not like CV couldn't still throw a dart to TE, a lob to corner, block a Mafah run, or stick his head in the dirt. Throwing the idea out but maybe bang CV against better teams and save banging CK2?

We have a short yardage back. Run mafah and give him a road grader lead blocker to lead for him.
