Do we still want Syracuse to beat Miami?

If we beat SC we may be sitting nicely for a playoff spot. Which would then be put into jeopardy having to play Miami or SMU to knock us out.
Or is the value of a 3/4 seed worth it?

I'd prefer if Cuse beat Miami and we try for the top 4 seed. Hosting a playoff game would be far more beneficial than going into an insanely hostile environment (that'll probably be far away and/or in a cold snowy environment).

they may not penalize conference title game losers much at all anymore. We will see if that's the case. More than anything I would not want to put it in the hands of the committee. They always do something stupid!

Yeah, we need Miami to lose. Even if we win out, why are we so sure we'll slip into the playoffs? Right now, of the 13 ESPN "experts," only David Hale has us in the playoffs just winning out. They're not going to have 3 ACC teams in the playoffs, and they're not going to put us above a team with an identical record who lost in the ACC championship. Based on current predictions, the playoffs will be:
5 Conference Champs: Oregon, Texas, Miami, Arizona State, Boise State
7 at large teams: Ohio State, Notre Dame, Georgia, Penn State, Tennessee, Indiana, SMU
We control our own destiny if Miami loses to Syracuse. That said, we do probably have a slightly better chance of going to the playoffs if we sit out than if we lose in the ACC championship, but it's really low any way without winning the ACC, so we need Miami to lose.

I tend to agree. I find it hard to root for Miami any time, but I just hate the idea of SMU winning the ACC in their first year. Will feed the talking heads agenda that the ACC is weak. This would be a meteorite game for me. Probably go hunting instead of watching it.
