Do I think Dabo should go? Yes Do I think Dabo will be fired? No
Clemson is in a heck of a bind. Financially we can't afford to get rid of Dabo. The problem is much bigger than that though. To fire Dabo would be the equivalent of a very messy and public divorce. It's not the same as just firing an underperforming coach. Everything about Clemson football from the recent Championships to the design and layout of the practice facility has Dabos vision and fingerprints on it. He is the winningest coach in program history. He has SURPASSED the legend of Danny Ford. The "ALL IN" slogan, tiger walk, ALL IN foundation are all products of Clemsons marriage to Dabo. I don't like it, but until his contract runs out, or he retires voluntarily, we are stuck. Literally and figuratively we have made our bed and we must lie in it.

if this conference membership carp got straightened out. If we had what we spent on legal fees to spend on NIL we might get somewhere

Can the Athletic director make him or tell him to utilize the transfer Portal? Then, if Dabo disobeys a direct order from his boss then he can be fired for insubordination and will be violating his contract therefor foregoing his future salary guarantees. But of course this would be hush-hush and done under the table and he would be allowed to retire and it would be swept under the rug. But the AD has got to do something if Dabo remains obstinate. The clock is at the 11th hour. It's getting ready to strike midnight.

Couod we afford the remainder of his contract though? And could we afford to hire a competitive replacement? I'm not sure, but I wouldn't think so.

Danny was a great coach but lost games , even to SC. go look at the coaches after him leading up to Dabo. do we need a DC, yeah, do we need WR coach, yeah but to fire one of the 2 active coaches with a national title is BEYOND dumb. change your diaper and go to bed

Easy hoss. We can disagree, but let's attempt a little professionalism and adult like behavior. I started at Clemson in 2007, graduated in 2011. Tommy Bowden was where I started, and I finished with 2 lackluster years under Dabo. The difference? The future was bright. We had a young, energetic coach with drive and unbridled enthusiasm to change the culture. Now? Change is needed. That bright future is in the past, and yes, with it came 2 national titles. The future trajectory of this program has been on the decline for 5 years running. 2018 is 6 years in the past. That last National Title was before today's recruits we even in high school. Dabo has given a lot for this program, but it doesn't buy him immunity for the current trend and lack of success.

But he could make it all go away if he would just do what he should. People would be much more forgiving of failures if they knew he hired the best coaches he could, and if he would use the portal and NIL for the benefit of the roster. Thats really all I would like to see.

30% of Frank Howard’s 29 years were losing seasons and he has a field named after him.
Dabo will get a statue and be inducted in the college football HOF…and he should. He’ll leave on his own terms…unless he starts losing 4 or 5 a year. While I think he’s lost much of his fire, I do believe he’s self aware enough to know when to throw in the towel.

Have the consistent 4 loss season not already started? What about Dabo screens "self-aware." Talented as he is, humility is not among his strengths.

He will only go on his terms & I think it will be soon. He can’t stand what the game has become. Thanks for the 2 Nattys.

There are only a few programs that win as many games as we do year in and year out. Those that want Dabo to go will never be satisfied and are probably unhappy with life in general. Grow up.

I live a fulfilling life, and consider myself to be generally happy person. Winning 9 games a year in the ACC is not something to brag about. Plain and simple, when you aren't playing for a conference title in this league you are average at best.

Why do T-net fans result to "grow up" or name calling when someone presents an opinion they don't agree with. Im a pround Alum, wear my ring proudly and brag about my Alma Mater for all to hear. I live in Oklahoma, (Air Force officer) and love nothing more than bragging about a good season when the Sooner fans control this whole state. However, this program has fallen from grace. I want whats best for my team. Until Dabo switches course, this current path is not it. I love the national titles he brought, but with every passing year those get further in the rear view mirror. Bobby Bowden won 2 titles at FSU and stayed much past his prime. Is Clemson in the same position? Does winning a title 6 seasons ago allow you to run out 5 straight average seasons? My message is I WANT change, not an ugly divorce or forced mediocrity due to past successes.

How about this question: Should his salary be reduced 15% each year until he makes the playoffs again? Or are we simply laundering NIL money through his salary via anonymous donations to the 110 Society? Either way I believe Dabo will stay until his last son matriculates.

Interesting thought but in today's world no coach would agree to a contract that penalized their salary based on losses.
