Any of you changed your opinion of Trump in recent months?

Aug 30, 2022, 2:08 PM

I voted for him in both general elections, but in neither primary. Curious if any of you have changed your tune on him in the months since the last election, whether it's because of how he handled the Jan 6 mess, or how he's conducted himself since being out of office, or the FBI raid, or what - or maybe those things have made you support him more. Not looking to argue either way - just curious if anyone has changed their opinion on him in the last several months.

Personally, I'm really hoping he doesn't run again. The GOP has a many great candidates out there and a lot of great options, but IMHO, Trump isn't one of them. Would love to see DeSantis or Haley or Noem or pretty much any number of other possible candidates get a shot.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I also voted for him in both general elections but not

Aug 30, 2022, 2:20 PM

in the primary.

Jan 6th was last straw for me.

Unfortunately, DeSantis or Haley or Noem could not withstand the absolute war that Trump has endured. And do not pretend like it will stop once Trump is gone. The Dems have no fear of using any weapon against their enemies.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I would argue he's not withstood it well either recently

Aug 30, 2022, 2:26 PM

But you're right - it'll be a full-out onslaught, no matter who it is. They've seen what works. I think each of those 3 have been through the grinder pretty well. I don't think she has a shot at all at winning the nomination (out of the limelight too long and at the wrong time), but I think Haley would withstand it the best, as she's been through it a bit before, but being a minority female would be to her advantage.

Trump is going full Miura on a third-rate message reposting Q drops like they're truth bombs. He's a former president that's reduced himself to shitposting about putting him back into presidency like Michael Scott declaring bankruptcy. The man is a pathetic little girl whining like a baby-turd soft bitch who just had his ice cream knocked out of his hand.

Get better heroes. Captain Mantits is Section 5-17. He never was a leader. He was always a thin-skinned bully who could give it, but without the man parts to take it.

Your TDS just couldn’t help itself could it? You get so triggered you can’t help but start the name calling and drivel about nothing substantive whatsoever. We get it. You hate Trump.

If you would just look around- no one is saying they love Trump. Of any libs had 2 brain cells to rub together they would listen to why there is a mass exodus from their way of thinking… but TDS just seems to get in the way every time.

Is Biden or any Democrat a better alternative to Trump?

DJT = mean Tweets (bad) + much better policies / good execution in the times of crisis (good).

Biden (lefties preference to DJT) = endless lies (not so good) + terrible policies (also not so good).

Democrats logic in electing Biden ... he's not Trump.

Happy now?

If one focuses on the words / tweets instead of the policies, then few reasonable people like Trump.

If one focuses on policies and managing of crises (COVID), then Trump does a darn good job.

Sure, he got snookered with the Covid relief bill (a huge money grab for all kinds of people). That was his biggest money squander.

But his management of the Covid deal itself, and the start of the southern border wall, the push to get the 'old powers' of NATO to fork out their share of the NATO bill, his fight of the Russia Hoax which exposed the FBI and the CIA as crooked, corrupt Federal Agencies, etc, etc. were magnificent.

If words and tweets make a person wet their drawers, then sure, Orange Man Bad.

If policies and results please a person, then Orange Man Pretty Good.

We need massive, massive, MASSIVE turnover in Washington. These ######## have been robbing us blind for an entire generation now, some 2, some 3 for cryin out loud. They're senile, fragile, greedy, stupid, and for some reason, we all lap it right the #### up.

According to business insider here, 69% of the US Senators are over the age of 60. That's ####### insane. 29% are older than 70! ### are we doing voting these old farts in here? How they can possibly legislate the current environment?

Sorry...went off on a rant there but you brought up a good point. We're all voting for empty headed geezers driving this country right into the ground, while they're just lining their pockets for their great grand kids, and the majority of them would not be hired in the private sector due to their age / competency / cognitive ability.

Re: Any of you changed your opinion of Trump in recent months?

Aug 30, 2022, 3:29 PM

Nope. Not at all. I was in DC on Jan 6 and know what it wasn’t - an insurrection.

He’s a mean tweeter and doesn’t know when to shut up.

With the blatant corruption of the left in all of our faces, I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt that he may know something I don’t about the election. I have been consistent during this whole sequence that I do not think massive voter fraud, in terms of Democrats stuffing ballots or whatever, swayed the outcome. However unless you’re a complete mindless democratic sheep, there is no denying that massive social media and main stream media bias/corruption heavily influenced the election. So from that perspective, I agree with Trump that the election was stolen.

Now we know that the FBI came down on Facebook to suppress the hunter Biden laptop story. They did the same with other media outlets I am sure.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Derp. You're such an unaware hypocrite.

Aug 30, 2022, 3:51 PM

If you think social media won the election for Biden, then you absolutely CANNOT deny that it also handed the election to Trump in 2016. EVERY, SINGLE, ONE of the 14 US intelligence agencies said that Russian troll farms, using massive reams of culled social media data from companies like Cambridge Analytica (whatever happened to them, anyway?), SPECIFICALLY TARGETED individuals and small demographic groups with VERY specific trash memes, almost all of which were anti-Hillary, in VERY specific geographies, counties, and precincts, in battleground states. That is undeniable. It happened, and it is almost undoubtedly what gave Trump his narrow victory.

And you're mad about the Hunter Biden laptop story? Facebook could have published or allowed whatever it wanted, or removed anything it didn't want. The FBI didn't "make" them do anything. If you believe they did (and you just implied it), provide any shred of proof corroborating it. Facebook can do whatever they like as a private company, and it sounds like you're just bitter that they cleaned up the garbage from 2016. I don't agree that they should have suppressed the Hunter laptop story, but again...they can do whatever they like. Don't like it? Don't Facebook.

And you being in DC on January 6th is so in character for you. This is my shocked face.

Re: Derp. You're such an unaware hypocrite.

Aug 30, 2022, 4:02 PM

Russia bought a few hundred FB ads and played ball from the outside.

You are the derp if you can’t figure out the difference between buying some ads and being on the inside and manipulating content and where it goes. No comparison. Have you seen the Russian ads from 2016? Go look them up see how many people you think those influenced - rounds to zero compared to the ACTIVE intervention of FB, Twitter, MSM to shape a false narrative.

I’m not ‘mad’ about Facebook covering up the HB story. It is what it is and it’s corruption, plain and simple. I’m continuously shocked by how stupid you libs are with zero ability to be objective.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So you can say definitively that the targeted FB ads in 2016

Aug 30, 2022, 5:03 PM

had no impact whatsoever on the election, but the ABSENCE of stories about Hunter Biden's laptop on the same platform, made ALL THE DIFFERENCE in that election? Do you even listen to yourself? One of those is blatant, false information propagated by a foreign nation. The other is a private platform choosing what to allow and not allow on its site, and you're essentially claiming that Trump had countless incremental voters who ONLY get their news from Facebook feeds, and totally would have voted for Trump, if ONLY they had read the Hunter Biden laptop story. On Facebook, since it didn't exist anywhere else.

That's what you're saying. You're a hack.

Re: So you can say definitively that the targeted FB ads in 2016

Aug 31, 2022, 12:05 PM

Ineffective ads by Russia against what they thought would be the winner (i.e., Hildebeast) ... made no difference in 2016 election.

Concerted refusal by FBI to investigate H.Biden laptop for national security problems (i.e., via Hunter's links to Joe) + media's purposeful ignoring of the H.Biden laptop story.

Ever heard of slow-playing something? If not, then review the timeline of how the FBI 'investigated' the H.Biden laptop story.

Again, remove head from sand, open eyes, and think.

So the integrity of the 14 intelligence agencies (always truthful??? and [as J.Edgar Hoover promoted it] 'we always get our man']).

CIA co-sponsored (via propagating the story) the Russia Hoax / Steele Dossier.

FBI (who knew better ... the firewall between FBI and CIA has been long destroyed) played along with the Russia Hoax (as if they were innocent and 'fooled' by the CIA's deception) to pursue Trump.

Where's the criminal record of DJT?

Of course, the MSM, GOP party, and of course the DEMs hate him because he crashed the political party, and are propagating lies and narratives in an attempt to keep him from ever threatening their corrupt ways of life.

And don't give me the 'he cheated on his wives' stuff or 'his Trump University didn't produce the fabulous jobs for it's graduates' stuff. Although unseemly, that isn't criminal stuff.

will be attacked by the left and the media the way Trump was. I am completely convinced that the media and the left will be very happy or at least content with a sane Republican who isn’t a narcissistic nut job.

Seems logical that a moderate could win the election. That’s been the case through most of presidential election history. But unfortunately I don’t see a moderate emerging from the Republicans are Democrats. Strange times politically.

Re: Disagree that next Republican president

McCain, Romney, Bush and Reagan were all attacked. Not to the point of Trump but the left in general certainly weren't content with any of them.

as low as we did with Trump, so maybe a moderate Republican will at least be attacked less than what has happened previously, since people now know what the alternative is like.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Disagree that next Republican president

Aug 31, 2022, 12:18 PM [ in reply to Disagree that next Republican president ]

You have a short memory.

MSM trashed liberal Republican Mitt Romney during his campaign against Obama. Using their usual playbook, the MSM likened Romney to Nazis.

Romney didn't fight back; therefore the MSM didn't need to amplify their negative propaganda against Romney.

With Trump, on the other hand, Trump fought back AND used Twitter (before Twitter censored him) to breach the MSM firewall and get his message out.

Trump represented a tremendous threat to the MSM (he both bypassed the MSM and exposed them for blatant bias in favor of Democrats). MSM's reaction was similar to a cornered beast ... they fought back with everything they had, and continue with their hyperbolic attacks on Trump in hopes of killing him off.

Killing DJT off (i.e., from any chance at returning to the Presidency) is the only true assurance that the MSM won't be existentially threatened by any Republican ever again.
