I'm 54, so I should have done this before now. I've never been big music guy, so forgive me if you are. I've only ever known a few Dire Straights songs: Sultans of Swing, Money for Nothing, Walk of Life. But I got an itch, and today I'm listening to their first Album in full. I'm only three tracks in, and I just needed to share.

Several of the high number poster’s consistently post non football stuff on this board so you should call them out as well

No prob. Not mad or anything, just pointing to proper designated board for next time.
This post would prolly stay near the top a lot longer in the Amphitheatre instead of being quickly buried when the gameday crowd jumps on the Football Board tomorrow.
I like Dire Straits by the way.

Their whole discography is excellent. Mark Knopfler's guitar licks are one of a kind and his vocal delivery is top notch. You're in for a treat if you're just getting to know more of them.

Way too many great songs to pick favorites. Don’t overlook his solo albums.

Enjoy. Don’t miss his later country foray, especially some of duets with Emmylou. A good accompaniment is Steely Dan. Aja is great if you can handle yo smoke

Hit songs are just teasers. The real gems are deep tracks you find when you play whole albums. I can’t imagine ever putting an overplayed hit song on my earbuds. Ever.

You would have been a big fan of B side 45’s. I was and then the obscure songs on the albums. Those days are gone. Dire Straits is, and will always be, good music.

I’ve always appreciated the solo effort soundtrack album Local Hero from Knopfler. Have to be in the right mood to give it a listen, but enjoyable.
