Jay Haynes is going to have a big day tomorrow. FSU has been especially horrible at setting the edge. And when they do there is often no one in the gap when the runner cuts it upfield.
In his brief career 49 yards is his single game high. I'm predicting he goes for over 100.

I would love to see that. Bretfsu do you really see it being as bad as people are saying? I guess I just think this is a fsu team full of talent that has to play well at some point.

Here is what I believe, any team, even the worst team in college football can and sometimes do beat the best teams in college FB. The only time that I can think of that would have been impossible was the season that usuc went 0-11

Let me put it this way.
For 5 straight games FSU has walked on the field with superior talent to the opposition. Tomorrow they will be facing a team with talent superior to them.
Why should I expect anything other than a blowout?
I'm usually very optimistic. The day before each game this year I expected FSU to win. But, after the SMU debacle, My optimism cup is bare.
Here is my position on FSU right now -
There are problems. Many problems. It's not my job to figure out exactly what they are and what needs to be done to fix them. I'm tired of trying to figure it out. It's Norvell's job to do that. I'm just gonna sit back and see how he does.

Brett, you are a good dude and one of our most welcomed opposing fans. So after today I'm happy to commiserate with you my friend. I'm curious about the temperature for Norvell at this point. Is it getting close to where it was with Taggart yet? Because I will 100% admit when he came from Memphis I thought he was a great hire. But outside of his willingness to raid the portal almost as much as Deion I have yet to see anything of note from him. Yeah last season was great but I think players like Jared verse and Jordan Travis had a lot to do with that. Anyway, thoughts?

One of the shows on XM radio pointed out FSUs record with their last two coaches in games without Jordan Travis starting at QB for the Noles. It is astoundingly terrible for both Norvell and Willie Taggert.
It is good with him starting at QB.

JH won't get his 100 until Mafah gets his 100 plus 2 TDs and 30yds receiving.
Honestly, I hope Clemson doesnt crap the bed by thinking this will be another day at the park. Overall, this will be the team with second highest star rating after UGA we face this year. This could be FSU Bowl game for the year if we choke and let them win. I think if we smack them with 2TDs in first qtr, they will shut down and play like SMU game. We just can't let them get all the momentum in 1st qtr.

FSU has to do something fundamental well and focus on it
That will be stopping Mafah
I am not saying they will be successful but it stands likely that when Haynes comes in to spell Mafah, they let up a tad and Haynes shows his speed!!!

Yeah, I feel like we need some kind of statement in the beginning and they will think "here we go again" and fold. That's a big IF. Lots of talent and a team with nothing to lose playing a rival can be dangerous.

It was great seeing us use the delayed handoff with him, similar to what we did for ETNs entire career. That indicates the coaches see some similarities there and it wouldn't surprise me to see him bust one at some point.

We jump to big lead and our 5th string D gives up scores in 4Q.
Folks are overestimating the talent currently on the FSU roster. I disagree with Bret when he says Florida State has had the better talent in all five games this year.
Last year‘s QB was good, but became great because he was there for six years. They had NFL players on the D line and wide receiver.
Most of the rest of the roster last year was mediocre. They had a super weak schedule last year and snuck by Clemson. Last year was a wildly overrated team.
Remove those NFL players, add DJ, take the mediocre coaching staff, throw in a horrible culture set by Norvell and the 2024 FSU team is much worse than people realize.
While the team is bad the program is also bad. It will take a few years for Norvell / anyone to turn this around.
I don’t know why people are debating whether Dabo will try to embarrass them. We have seen Dabo coach at Clemson for years. It’s very clear how he will handle this game and any game. He will try to score a lot more points than the other team. Once we get a comfortable lead, he will put in a lot of backups to develop our depth. At that point he doesn’t care what the score is, but he’s very interested in developing depth.
