Y'all this dude was a 2 star. Nobody wanted him. He walked on at a juco and Vanderbilt got him out of the portal. They are off to a 5 and 0 start for the first time in 8 decades. Why can't we get with it already?

Had we got him, he'd regressed to bench warmer. We can't do diddly with a 5 star or 4 star QB.

Very true and most likely every other school would have given the back-up qb a couple series.

Their players want to play and win. Ours do not. Very obvious.

Don't let derangement color your remembrance of history. Seemed to do OK with Boyd, Watson, and Lawrence.

Lightning in a bottle there, my dude. Right place, right time, right system. It's been cool to see this guy with an underdog story at a place like Vandy. Who knew that'd be more interesting than what we have cookin' at home right now.
That said, Vandy has a murderers' row coming up:
@ Alabama LSU Missouri @Texas
If they win 2 outta 4 that'll be pretty good, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them go 0-4 and limp to a bowl game. They're a scrappy team for sure.

Aguilar, at Tennessee, initially walked on at his JUCO as well. He then got a scholarship to App St. He’s had a very similar career path to Pavia.

I went to the New Mexico St at Auburn game in late 2023 (the normal SEC versus weak sister weekend). It was obvious by halftime Pavia was the best player on the field and he would be able to do whatever they needed to beat Auburn. In the end it wasn’t even close and then Pavia and his OC moved on to Vandy last year. It’s not always the 5 stars that you should put the game in the hands of. Kind of like Brock Purdy. Some guys just get it done.

Vandy didn't just get him out of the portal. He followed his coach from New Mexico to Vandy.

He was offered 4.5 million by another SEC school but said 'No' and stayed at Vandy.

Sounds a lot like the best QB in NFL
He had zero offers
He mailed out 119 applications
1 school offered him. Wyoming The rest is history.
