Did we screw Cade by playing him in more that 4 games?

Nov 27, 2022, 2:07 PM

Was just looking over his stats and the reality is, we only needed him for 3 games at most. Did we just waste a year of his eligibility by playing him in meaningless games?

The obvious answer is that Dabo wanted to give him game time experience but if that was the case, shouldn't he have played yesterday?

Ridiculous post.

Legitimate question.

My point is if you are going to burn a redshirt year, make it meaningful. IMHO, we wasted his first year here. If he transfers, then no harm to us.

We've absolutely wasted a year. We'll be lucky if he stays.

We screwed him by not playing 1/2 each in the Furman and the LA Tech games. Let the quarterbacks settle it on the field. If DJ comes back and Cade doesn't get a chance he will hit the portal.

No we screwed Clemson by not playing him in every game and letting him learn OJT! Whatever he did I doubt he would have done worse than DJ...He's no QB, have no idea who told Dabo that but he must not listen to him again...As posted on this site if you have a great QB you are never really out of a game, a good QB can keep everything close and give you a chance but a poorly producing QB for 2 years is a good way to lose fan support! Tiger players and fans deserve better...best is standard!

He won’t be here 5 years. He will be here at most 4 years (unlikely) and probably only 3.

Regardless of how many games he played this year, players like Cade that will likely play on Sundays only play 3 years anyways. So play him 1 or 5 games he's gone in 3

So he wasn’t good enough to play this year despite DJ’s struggles

Nov 27, 2022, 3:01 PM

yet he’s going to be NFL ready in two years?

There is no sign or no guarantee that he will go pro. As we know, just because you are a 5-star in HS it doesn't mean that you will automatically play in the league or even start at D1/Power 5. He has a lot to learn and definitely needs to add some weight/muscle.

I guess looking back at it, we had three 5-star QB's this year and our offense was beyond sorry. If I had to rate our offense:

WR's-F. They were pitiful
O-Line-C+ performed slightly better than average
TE's-C Nothing special but didn't hurt us
RB's-B Ship was great, the others ok. Didn't hurt us like the WR
QB-D Hard for a QB to be good with an average O-Line and bad WR's.

He only played a snap or two in one game because DJ had to

Nov 27, 2022, 2:59 PM

DJ has not shown any shyness about going to the bathroom on the field. Sometimes on the playbook for good measure.
