Did Dabo pull a sandbag versus UGA?

Extra vanilla and not showing off our new toys on Offense? I seriously doubt this but after seeing that throw chart and that vacant swath in the money zone, plus the weird 3rd and 22 run play in the 3rd essentially handing the game over - I am left to wonder if the strategy was to show absolutely nothing on Offense until ACC play begins, which is our real ticket forward, and take the lumps as part of the season's growing pains.
Our OL did okay, which was encouraging and something you can't really hide - but the playcalling, personnel, and execution were as predictable and bland as one could imagine.
Wishful thinking I suppose, but not out of the question.

It would annoy me but if that is what we did I hope we are hiding some good stuff. That poor game emboldened every team we will play. They all want to and expect to beat us now.

That strategy is not totally out of the question....but it puts a disservice cloud on the team and the treatment to the fans that spent money to see Clemson put up a fight for 4 quarters. Not just a half.

Possibly, but I think that would have meant we would have been MUCH more determined in the run game.

LOL, we've been vanilla for several years if that is the case. I'm thinking the game plan is what it is.

It was almost like he was writing this game off as a probable loss. So this theory isnt that far fetched. And honestly, with the new playoff system, the game was absolutely meaningless as far as us reaching our goals. Who was it in CBB a few years back, I think UCLA or Arizona, that would sandbag the conference tournament to prepare for March Madness. It's not a unheard strategy.

I guess you missed him winning the toss but electing to receive as he wanted to take it to UGA from the jump. Unfortunately, dropped passes and missed assignments killed the plan. Sometimes posters amaze me but not in a good way. If your post was satire I apologize as my meter is broken.

Why Would He Hide Anything Against Georgia????
If App State was the first game and Georgia next, then it would make sense to run a vanilla offense.

Because our ticket to the CFP doesn't run through UGA, it runs through the ACC, and they weren't on the field Saturday?

I see. Let's play vanilla against Georgia and almost automatically lose the game so we can hide our special plays from Nancy State, Stanford, FSU, Wake Forest, Virginia, Louisville, VaTech, and Pittsburgh, all killer teams. Give me a break.

Didn’t hide anything but when you’ve been as bad as Clemson has been on offense for the last 3 seasons, your time to turn things around is not against Georgia’s defense.
It’s something that might take several weeks to get moving (if it’s improved) but with the o-line improvement & Cade not looking absolutely lost all game. Who knows what the rest of the season holds.

I doubt it, but the thought crossed my mind. Of course you want to win every single game for the rest of our lives, even tho we know that's impossible. Say we do win that game, we're probably Top 3-5 right now and loaded with pressure to blowout every team we face from here to the playoff. Now the focus is just winning the Conf and its an auto bid anyway....with a win over the coots of course. I just feel the real season begins this weekend, it has to be against App ST....and by that I mean no losing or Winning a close game in the 4th Qtr, but establishing dominance on both sides of the ball and winning by 3+ TDs min. It's really ALL IN or Nothing beginning this Sat night.

This idea that we’re holding back plays to not show our hand is so played out it’s ridiculous. Especially this time. As an almost 2 TD dog in an opener against the #1 team in the country, down less than a TD the entire first half, anyone holding back the offense should get out of football altogether.
