Did anyone attend the Maryland game after Hugo?

I think Hugo hit on a Thursday so Clemson had an extra day to recoup. Also Hugo did not cause as much damage in Clemson as I think Helene has:
We missed that game, it was first home game I had missed in a long time. I remember watching the game on a black and white battery powered tv. It was really weird watching a Clemson home game on tv.
Seems like they had places to donate toward the relief effort. Anyone remember anything else about that game?
Our power didn’t come back on until the disastrous spurrier led duke loss a week or two later. We watching the first half in our Plymouth minivan plugged into the cigarette lighter. Seems like the first half went well before we crumbled in the second.

I was a student at the time, so yes.
I lived in a lake house in a very wooded area up in Townville at the time. It was a little wild.

I was there. A couple of guys sitting in front of us were from Charlotte. Once they sat down in their seats one guys turns to the other and says, "you hear that?' "hear what?" the other guys says. "No chainsaws".

I was there, as student. Seems to me I recall a nice day, with a sparse crowd

So did Manning, and that's where I was living when Hugo came through and it wrecked that little town...

I was living in Kingstree, and it was absolute devastation here. Friday afternoon, as we all were still trying to take it all in, daddy walk's in the house and said, nothing we can do here, lets try to make it to Clemson. It took us almost 4.5 hours to reach Newberry. Trees down, roads closed, lines down... We got a hotel room with A/C and a hot shower. Got up Saturday morning and made it to Clemson, still in shock. The ride home Sunday was easier, but the destruction was still waiting at home. It was 15 days before we got power back. The Kingstree Inn allowed locals to come and take cold showers for a dollar a pop! So glad we whipped Maryland that day, and for that wonderful distraction for 3 hours! Go Tigers

My mother was 8 months pregnant with me when it hit. She was in Florence. She told me it was awful.

Yes I was there. We smacked Maryland. Hot humid day as I recall. I went to Durham the following week which absolutely was a disaster.

Power did not go out in Easley. All i remember is huge dark clouds flew by overhead and no rain. That was Friday. Saturday I played golf at Pickens CC on a beautiful sunny day.

It was a beautiful day in Clemson for the game and it really had a surreal feeling given the destruction I had left behind. I still have a lot of vivid memories of that week.
I was working out on the Isle of Palms when we were told to evacuate. I still remember going over a CALM Breech inlet and seeing the naval ships all leaving port.
The devastation after the storm was incredible.

YES! I was in pharmacy school at MUSC at the time. My roommate and I fled to our sweet little hometown of Cheraw, which Hugo also decided to visit, thus no power for days. So,...we took my parent's tickets and rolled up to TigerTown for the game and stayed with friends who had power and had a cool time. Good Times!

I believe the Duke QB was named Billy Ray. That loss stung.
