When Sanders left (not Grambling), I do suspect that he said to some players "If you get in the portal, I'll get you". That is also tampering. Yes - hypocrisy abounds.
I do think it's funny that the author believes it's a good thing that other schools know that UVA is willing to tamper with other team's players. That's the world we live in.

He took a 1 win team and quadrupled their wins in year 1. In year two he more than doubled their wins total, going 9-4 and tying for first place in the Big XII.
That is really impressive if you ask me. Way better than mediocre.
He excelled at Jackson State too.
