Celebrated/imbibed/pick your verb at a fave Park Circle 'bank' (Charleston). Decided reaching a very young 70 was worthy of stepping outside my normal 'thrifty' sipping zone.
Holy Hail...Old Fitzgerald's Fall '2024 release...mercy, mercy, mercy! Reinforced why I so love wheated bourbons!
Makes me wonder what's in store when I pop the top on the Very Very Special release of Old Fitz I was supremely lucky enough to get when visiting Heaven Hill last year...at MSRP...two of them! One is absolutely for when the two grandsons turn 21...and I reach 90! Gotta have goals!
Anywho, if you're in splurge mode and haven't tried...go for it!

Four Roses and I don't seem to connect.

Four Roses...just haven't opened them...yet.
I have dozens of bottles of all sorts...kinda sad for a guy who has maybe one drink/night. I like the stories behind them all, though, so...that's my story...sticking to it! ">
An old pic, but gives a 'flavor'. Really loving the American single malt growth.

My go to in the quick look of your collection is the Henry McKenna. For the price, it is great.

I saw a recommendation for Evan Williams 1783 Small Batch as a low cost option which drinks like a much more expensive option. Note I drink mine with club soda but love it so far. Certainly will not stand up against the OPs elite bottles (congrats on the find and birthday) but makes a really good drink

Evan Williams 1783 is a staple mixer...can't go wrong. Green River has a bonded wheat, too...both are priced right.
Weller...you're on point there, Barojohn

You raised your son right! Well done...very well done! Oklahoma, you say? Hmmm...
World Whisky Society bottled a nice bourbon finished in port casks a couple years ago...it was distilled in Oklahoma. Man oh man was it good. I still have a bottle or two tucked away. They used a skull for the plug! Awesome!
