Death Valley sounded like Dead Valley during the second half of Louisville game.

During the 3rd quarter many fans left (like a bunch of Coots), and the ones who stayed decided to not cheer. I cheered to the end, and I think those around me wished that I didn't. Pound for pound, the small contingent of Louisville fans in the corner of the endzone outcheered us. Those early leavers and docile remainers saddened me very much.

I was there, cheered loud. The team gave up long before

I watched the replay of the game on TV today (ESPNU?). Even the announcers referred our dead environment. That is not good advertisement for us. I'm glad that at least 2 of us cheered loud to the end.

When you put that bad of a product on the field you can expect a lack of cheering.

It hasn't sounded the same in quite some time. I truly think some of it

is related to the pumping in of music that takes the crowd out of it and the reduction of people on The Hill, although it looked better than the recent normal Saturday.

The pregame music is obnoxious. Maybe i’m too old to appreciate the playlist but i was in DV for 75 awful minutes pregame. I also think dimming the lights during timeouts is a Unnecessary distraction for the players. Just my .02

I think when the Tigers decided to run out the clock in the entire 4th quarter the fans decided they had pretty much thrown in the towel.

Drove up from Savannah pumped for the game

The team energy level and play calling was 100% flat from the opening kickoff. Near the end of the 1st quarter, the scoreboard confirmed Louisville had 104 yards and Clemson had 3.

I left at halftime for the 1st time since 1979. Clemson students and fans were flocking to the exits. There seemed to be little angst and primarily apathy from those departing. Many were headed to parties, or downtown, or the Esso Club. The players played and the coaches were coaching with no passion or excitement as if they wished they could leave as well.

The demise of the fan base and atmosphere in DV is notable though not as eagerly discussed here as that of the team itself.

Spoiled by success, we are.

There is definitely no demise of the fan base and atmosphere in DV. Just the opposite. Louisville was a “bad debate” as they say. Been going for a long time and the support and atmosphere has NEVER been better,
Have you been?

The surrounding sections in TDG-I and probably beyond were sitting on their hands the whole game. Not just the second half. I think this has gradually happened over the years and isn't just a Clemson problem. People would rather sit around and look at their phones instead of getting into the game. I remember a death valley in which the entire stadium was yelling every 3rd down on defense.

It was loud at the start and in the 1st quarter

and also we had higher time of possession so they weren't going to get super loud when we had the ball.

Our area in Section C was pretty normal through the first half. I will admit that for the first time ever I stopped making noise in the 3rd quarter. When we went for 4th down inside our own 40 that seemed like a desperation move, and when we didn’t make it I figured I might as well give up too. That has NEVER happened before.

There were so many head scratchers in that game from the staff that I actually forgot about the 4th down attempt from our own 35 with a quarter and half left in the game. That was in sharp contrast to then not going to the hurry up offense in the fourth. Went from ridiculously high risk to unfathomably conservative.

Yea, when we tried the onside kick with 6 minutes to go, I was thinking what would make anyone think we could score 2 TDs in 6 minutes?? And we would have had to stop them too.

I was there with my wife and kids and grands. It was an electric atmosphere. Really cool. Our team came out like a head east album. Flat as a pancake. The fans were ready. These are young men. Sometimes we come out flat. Go Tigers.

Let’s be honest, just about everything sucked about that game . The score could have been much worse..trash points at end..etc to lose like that at night in Death Valley made it even worse. Reminded me of the FSU Jameis Winston loss …let’s set a noise decibel record in death valley game when he torched us. I had enough last weekend and left in the 4th qtr. all we can do is look to this weekend for improvement which should t be hard to do.
