is more "CLEMSON" than most folks on Tnet.
Posting a new thread so haters can expose themselves including the one who could think of nothing but to attack my poor spelling.
Unlike many here, DJU is also an elite football player. He is elite as he will again maybe make a million this season.
He did the best he could at Clemson and that was kinda good. 11-2 with 22 TDs is above average. Many QB from the past or future are not going to post that.
In addition he is an excellent young man who represented Clemson well. He gave us his best!

All valid points. I could never grasp the beautiful difficult throws he could make and then the easy routine throws that would be badly missed. Just so inconsistent

And for a program that had previously been a perennial top-5 and CFP participant, his level of performance was a BUST. His recruitment was a bad miss by Dabo and staff.

His recruitment was not a bad miss. Every elite team in the country wanted him out of HS.
His development was a bad miss, some on him and some on our coaches.

I like you tug, but DJ isn’t elite. He’s average. He has elite abilities and elite arm talent. He just didn’t process information well. He could make the hardest throws look easy and the easiest throws look impossible. He has a bright future as a MLB prospect. He has zero possibility to play meaningful time in the NFL.
Yes, he seems to be a great kid. More Clemson than most on here; no possible way. You see, I would rather ride the bench at clemson than Star anywhere else. I’m sure most TNetters feel the same way. DJ couldn’t find greener grass fast enough. It’s also a pattern in his life. Things get tough and he underperforms it’s time to try a change of scenery. What that change doesn’t do is change his ability. DJ is still DJ and will always find a way to lose the big games.

He was here for years doing his best. He was benched for Cade.
To say he is not "CLEMSON" as he sought to play at other places is kinda dumb. For example Chase Brice who also gave us all he could before looking for a place to play.
DJU is Clemson.

And I did enjoy some of his play..

and that WF game where he was hot.

He played pretty darn well his true freshman season against BC and ND when Lawrence was hurt, but he had ETN, Powell, and AMari Rogers to dish the ball out to. When he had time to throw, he was hitting darts 40 yards downfield. Move forward to 2022 and the line and receivers were a train wreck, the defense took a step back, and he still managed to win us 9 games.. Hsi numbers would have been a lot better had had the players around him, tor he managed to get worse. But I think we can al agree we missed don a lot of receivers and the Oline was already in a slow decline from our playoff days when he took the reigns, yet he won the ACC, something Klubnick could not do.

10+ wins. DJs numbers as a sophomore 9 TDs,10INTs,54%comp,2200Yds. These are the numbers of a Triple option QB. TD/Int ratio is god ephing awful. The comp% is horrendous. He got it up to 61% his JR year at Clemson which is not good, 65-70% is the # scouts look for in a potential QB at the next level. Last season at OSU, he dipped back down to 57% which is bad- BTW CK'sSoph#s 19Td,9Ints,64%comp,2850Yds

a team that should not have even been competitive with Clemson that season. But an inept first half, capped off by his bonehead fumble on the goal line that turned into a 97-yard Three Stooges scoop & score, forced the need for a big comeback against a mediocre team. Unglalalalala was a disaster for our program. A horrific bust.

I don't hate DJ, I think he is a very average QB who can't get out of his own head. He doesn't play naturally at all and unfortunately that's not something that can be fixed or learned
I will say that game vs the coots two years ago was one of the WORST I've ever seen a QB play in my entire life.

Despite that, and amazingly, had that fumble at the end not happened our Tigers were positioned to win by two with a last play field goal … and that team would have been 11-1 and in the playoffs …

Claiming DJ was good is preposterous. Dude, come on. 22 TDs? Look at literally every stat. By no metrics was he good. He was survicable. One thing he does get credit for is putting his head down and continuing to go to work and try his best with a good attitude despite insane levels of criticism. But was he good? Heck no.

You are delusional! And at this point, so are 20 other folks. But something like 35% of Americans believe Brandon is doing a good job. So there’s always the fringe.
Transferring to FSU is embarrassing. Only worse place he could have gone to is Chicken U. He’s the last QB to lead the chickens to a W over us. So that actually would have been quite appropriate. DJ is a joke. He simply can not handle pressure. He will get exposed this year and it couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

be alot different. Translating into a new system at FSU will have its challenges but he knows the speed of the game now and will have more confidence this year than he ever had at Clemson. It will be a really tough game for Clemson in Tallahassee. Some of ya'll might get a surprise or two.I surely hope i'm wrong b/c its gonna be embarrassing if we lose that one.

Dabo did hire an offensive line Coach that destroyed our unit. CDS deserves a great deal of blame for where we sunk too and still are. It has also been said that a Quarterback never developed a bit under our Coaching. In recruiting the pro style QB then ruining his OL and missing or not developing WRs its CDS that people should hold primarily accountable.

I think the perception of DJ by Clemson fans is skewed because he followed Watson and Lawrence and was a 5-star recruit. The expectation was he was going to be the next great Clemson QB, especially after his performance against ND in his freshman season. That's an extremely tough barometer to be judged by. He had to be great to live up to expectations. He wasn't/isn't great, but that doesn't mean he sucks. He's solid college QB and will probably have a good year at FSU. Is he a QB that will win a national title? No, but I think he's good enough to go 10-2 at FSU this season and have them in contention for the ACC title. To me, he's pretty similar quality of player to Klubnik.

I don’t want him as my quarterback.
The Clemson staff will never say this publicly, but no doubt they wish he had not committed to Clemson and we had had a different quarterback in that year.
