I thought about it, but there was no playoff system or even a BCS championship for part of Saban's early career. That, plus since the format has changed several times over the years, I omitted it. Besides through the period of comparison, Saban had not won or played for a NC, even though he did win one at the end of 2003, the last partial year considered. Dabo has played in one during the period of consideration, and may play in another or even win one at the end of this year. It's a fair point, but I chose to leave it out for those reasons.

Dabo would blow him away where it really counts: Faith and strength of character. He's going about it the right way, building Men. And having fun. I don't think the Alabama players get much fun, just stress and pushed to win at all costs.
