It seems to me, that once again… Dabo is winning the argument. If you watched Cade versus Tennessee, you can understand why Dabo went with DJU for most of the season. Freshmen are freshmen. I’m not certain we don’t win that last game with a more seasoned QB that doesn’t bail out so quickly. DJU wasn’t great this year but I can understand Dabo’s reasoning for sticking with him over a freshman. I admittedly agree, he probably should have been pulled against South Carolina.
Now as we watch teams like South Carolina lose important starters to the portal, Dabo is proven right again. The portal is not the answer and culture makes a difference. He has always said he would rather use NIL money for retention. Look at the folks we have coming back and the lack of attrition in our starters. Our coach may come off as corny but he is wiser than the keyboard warriors on this forum.

We punt the ball 5x as much against Tennessee if DJ was starting. I’m sorry but the offense just clicks better when Cade is in. Yes, he had some plays where he abandoned the pocket too soon but he also had some incredible throws and the best chemistry with receivers we’ve seen all year.
I won’t question Dabo’s decision to continuously start DJ over Cade. What I will question is the fact that there were opportunities to get Cade some reps in some games this year and we kept DJ in to presumably build his confidence. Dabo ultimately made the right call to sit DJ after he finished digging his grave in the SC game, but it was too little too late to save the season and with a more experienced Cade Klubnik.

Absolutely, and if Cade would have been given meaningful snap all during the season the way that he did with DW4 and TL16, Cade would have been ready for Tennessee and won that game!!!!

But a couple points would be, a) Dabo did get Cade reps. He played in about half the games prior to the coot game, and b) we didn't handle our backup QB any differently than normal or any different than other teams. Plus we started out 8-0, and didn't predetermine Cade was going to end up being the starter.

Maybe we stick to the game plan of running #1 (while keeping Tennessee’s offense off the field) if DJ was the starter. Maybe our red zone efficiency(which was outstanding all year) would have allowed us to score TD’s instead of missed 55 yards field goals.

Depends on which DJ showed up against Tenn. the punt 5x more with DJ is nothing more than you stating imaginary stats which supports your narrative.

If Cade gets more meaningful work earlier in the season, he's even better against Tennessee. DJU would have been much worse, with his accuracy issues.

I wish Cade had performed better than he did vs La Tech in Game 3 - after coming in later in the 3rd up 28, two short, stalled drives later, La Tech's Air Raid offense kicked in for 2 TD's and it's suddenly a 14-point game with 9:30 left.
Unfortunately for his prospects of additional playing time in meaningful minutes, that set him back. A tough 4-game ACC slate followed (all wins) where DJ played his best ball of his career. That's how the cookie crumbles.
Kid obviously has exceptional talent. Guessing another off-season and prep under Streeter will pay big dividends on his decision-making for 2023.

Personally, I think that is BS Cade would have won the coot game in the second half if given a chance, and we would have been 8 wins in a row against them for the first time ever, + 41 straight home wins!!!

still. There’s a long ways to go to say Dabo has righted the ship yet. Will await to see his staff changes on the offensive side of the ball before declaring him saint Dabo.

There is not going to be any staff changes nor should there be. Streeter and the offensive staff will be fine especially when we see a season with our WR and OL not go thru so many key injuries. The fans fail to see the impact of the injuries we have seen to our offense since 2020. WR room has not been healthy since the 2020 season. Massive losses 2021 and 2022 have seriously hampered the efficiency of this position. If Cade can get an injury free WR corps in 2023 and a cohesive more experienced OL then this offense will show a tremendous jump in efficiency and scoring. Going to be fun to see all the "Fire Streeter" clan when the truth shines true. Hopefully injury free in '23 we will see!

Either recruiting has missed or development has failed on WRs, QBs and O linemen. The play calling and O scheme are pedestrian at beat. No innovation, completely predictable. TL and ETN talent hid just just how woeful it has gotten. Couple this with the other teams leveraging the portal to close the talent gap and voila, Clemson’s O is no longer in the elite category.
You can talk about injuries until the cows come home, but every elite team has injuries, yet they seem to field a top 10 Offense consistently. Dabo has seemingly stopped adapting after 2018. We need the old Dabo back. The one who is not afraid to make whatever changes are needed to produce a winning team even if it hurts some feelings.
Unless and until we see evidence via a top 10 O, no one has proven anyone wrong on the concerns being voiced. Dabo can run things as he sees fit. He has earned that. But that doesn’t make him immune to fans being concerned about the performance not being up to “best is the standard”.
Only in September/October will we know if the concerns were valid. Right now, it is too early to make that call. I for one hope and pray the concerns were for naught and Dabo has it all figured out.

look at our WR room for next year.........every dang one of them would lucky to start on any of our 2015-2019 teams (possible exception of Williams, but I think Rodgers/Renfrow start over him).........the rest of them may be lucky to make the 2-deep on those teams.
When Drew Swinney, Spector, & a freshman Cole Turner are playing WR in the OB on the field at the same time when the game is still in "question"..............that's when you know your WRs are bad

You are dead wrong regarding the Tenn game. DJU would have been cannon fodder for Beasley (LB for Tenn). He was in the backfield about as quick as the snap. He roughed up CK pretty good because our Oline sucks. Dabo has done wonders at Clemson but he absolutely made some boneheaded moves this past season. We ALL make mistakes and Dabo is no exception so maybe a draw versus Tent?

I saw a number of posters early, early predict that we would have 3 losses. This was all along, even when we were undefeated. The Great Myth across all domains is that appointed leaders know everything and lay people know nothing. Which has been proven wrong over and over through time, both in sports circles, political circles, corporations ...

seasoned professionals in the arena paid to do that job and not left to lay people and reactionary fans who would fire coaches every other week when a result didn't go their way.
What's great is having a free market allowing fans to simply stop supporting a team if they're unhappy, and stop patronizing corporations if they don't like their products. On the political side - vote - then get back to work. If you think you can do more, get in the arena and run for office. Unlike coaching and running a company or corporation - no experience required.
Go Tigers.

Absolutely not. Cade does almost everything better than DJ. He did make some mistakes but no one that understands football can objectively say DJ would have played better. For one, you've got the UNC game as a literal proof one QB played better. Same defense, same situational time too.

According to the weighted statistics our running backs were the best playmakers this year, but streeter went pass happy in a number of games. I still think we would beaten the coots if we stuck to running the ball.
