Dabo is the problem Part 3

After Georgia… I said Georgia wasn’t close to the #1 team in the land and they’d lose 2-3 games… that’s exactly what happened.
After Georgia… I said we’re an 8/9 win team… that’s exactly what happened.
After Georgia… I said once we went 8-4/9-3 and lost to SC and didn’t win the ACC that people that were calling out my posts about Dabo being past his time would start to come around towards the end of the season… that’s exactly what’s starting to happen.
After Georgia… I said don’t let that recruiting class fool you… it was loaded with defensive players and not true difference makers… well even I was wrong their as now we’ve lost literally half of those defensive guys and have fallen completely out of the top 25 rankings in recruiting. So it was even worse than what I said in this case.
After Georgia… I said it would get worse before it gets better and after today… that’s exactly what’s starting to happen..
Their were a few that agreed with me after Georgia but most piled on and counted out all Dabos PAST accomplishments but after the completion of the season today with our 2nd straight home loss to SC… it looks like a lot of those pumpers are finally… finally starting to see what I and a handful of others have been saying for quite awhile… we are falling and quickly.
The fun times are over and we have a lot of bad games and suffering coming over the next couple of years.
I’ll end with the same thing I started that first post with after Georgia… it’s time for Dabo to go. It’s time to move on or him retire so we can go hire somebody that’s willing to get with the times off the field. Somebody that’s willing to go search out and find and hire the best assistant coaches money can buy bc we’ve got it to spend.
It’s going to continue to get worse before it gets better bc better isn’t coming again until Dabo Swinney has his hands completely off this programs prints.
If you defend Dabo at this point theirs nothing else I or anyone can say. Dabo… and Dabo alone is responsible for tearing down what he built and it’s truly truly sad to watch it burn with no end in sight.

I’ve had 3 different posts like this and believe me I know what you’re saying but I’m not going to let the morons on here dictate what I post or my opinion.
I love this game and have lived it my entire life. I don’t much about a lot of things but I know football and I know what I see and at I truly feel inside my head.
If anyone can’t see that we have 1 problem and 1 problem alone then I don’t know what else to say.
We have 1 single problem and it just happens to be our biggest problem which is the HC and bc he won 2 titles in what seems like a different life ago… he can’t be touched but it’s going to keep getting worse and eventually even the most die hard Dabo fans will get tired of it and something will get done.
But until that day which I’m sure is at least a couple more years away unless Dabo does the right thing and just walks away on his own… this is only the beginning of what’s going to be a really really tough couple of years to swallow coming up.

Dabo has earned his right to coach here as long he wants. If you have an issue with that stop supporting our tigers. Yes today didn’t go the way we wanted and you can point fingers at whoever you want . College sports are in an uncommon world right now and Dabo is still doing it the right way. It will pay off just have faith…But if you havnt realized there is no dominant team this year and if we sneak into the championship next weekend we have a chance to make some noise by winning and who knows what can happen after that. Go tigers!

Blah blah blah bro don’t tell me who I can and can’t support. I love this team just as much as you or anyone else and no… he hasn’t earned the right to stay as long as he wants.
You’re one of those that love Dabo more than Clemson so you can still pull for Dabo after he’s gone from here.

Some of us have grown up living and playing this game our entire lives and just bc we didn’t choose to go into coaching doesn’t mean we don’t know what we’re talking about.

Has seen a steady increase in hiring friends and former players with little to no coaching experience, increase in friends and family offers to players, a decrease in recruiting with min effort to get top notch players through the portal or upper 5* high school kids. The only exception is he fired the OL coach his former teammate going into this year. I would prefer a complete change but I would be ok with a couple more coaching changes, see an effort to actively hit the portal (only 4-6 guys is all I really want to see) and a effort to compete with high level recruits again.

The only problem with this is are the Clemson people Play with starting over and dropping to a 6-8 win team while the new coach figures it out, and after you have to rebuild recruits and lose kids already in the Clemson system. There are tons of good football all programs that got rid of good coaches that win 8-10 games a year that spent 4-8 years regretting the decision. The question is Clemson ready for that? If Clemson fans are then yes it’s time for him to go.

Sad but 100% true. You have to use what's available to your advantage. We don't need to go out and look for 7+ players in the portal, but if we don't try to get THE BEST players we can to fill some holes, what are we even doing in this new age of football?? I even think getting just a punter this year would of put us on the positive side of our losses.
We can certainly go after kids that fit in our "culture". Does Dabo truly think he goes after just the recruits that fit on the first few months of the recruiting trail? I mean come on. This is insane to not try to make your team the best it can be with better talent that you might have missed on the first go round. Some kids have left because of toxic cultures at other schools and looking to find a better one. Ugggg. Sad times.

In regards to recruiting Dabo is bringing a knife to a gun fight. Use the tools available to you. Why is it you think we have lost games to teams with Freshman and first time starting QBs? Im not saying get rid of Dabo he has done a lot for CU. He needs to do what's best for CU and I think he has lost that focus with hiring. Wes G for example, has never played a down of organized football but you promote him the OC and coach LB? I would favor Ben B over that.

Don’t get mad at me… be mad at the guy that built a powerhouse and then proceeded to run it right back into the late 90s-early 2000s bc that’s exactly where we’re heading back to and rather quickly. Tommy Bowden territory except we’re getting robbed for 11 million a year now.

but it may take 10 years of losing records before a new coach might be able to get us above where we are now. I like my chances with Dabo figuring out and giving us a chance year in and year out to compete for ACC title and a chance at playoff each year. We may only get there 20% of the time, but I feel at least we have a shot each year. Clemson is not the elite program we think we are in the sense that if Dabo leaves, someone else can come in a take us over that hump right away. Dabo has made Clemson into the elite program we've become and without him, I think we fall even faster than you are saying we currently are doing.
Of course, I could be wrong, but I've seen it happen to way too many schools in both football and basketball when they get a taste of success and then think they are entitled to stay there year in and year out.

Entitled? Just wow
So asking to use every available resource to just TRY to put together the best team of players and staff possible now equals entitled?
Bro I promise you… if we were using the portal and NIL like everyone else… very very few here or anywhere else would be complaining about Dabo being the issue.
The fact is… HE WONT EVEN TRY.
He won’t even make the effort to conduct a real true national search for the best assistant coaches. He takes the lazy way out and hires friends and family that don’t have the balls to tell him no or call him on something when it’s not working.
That’s the problem bro… Dabo isn’t even trying when his own slogan is… “best is the standard”
It’s hypocritical at best. He’s not hungry anymore. He doesn’t want it like he used to. Stealing 11 mill a year… why would he care as long as he hangs around 8/9 wins but even that is coming to an end and soon.
A lot of people here think Cade is trash… just wait until Cade is gone and then watch what we look like… it ain’t going to be pretty.

I agree with your hot takes, but let’s not act like they originated in your brain solely and sprouted from there. A lot of us have been saying this for 5 years. I know I’ve been seeing the offensive cracks since 2019-2020 but I’d feel pretty foolish saying I spotted them first and everyone owes me royalties on the opinions. Many of us have been swimming upstream against the tide here for years now on noting the emperor’s new clothes.
