Dabo is obviously a superior coach than Brownell BUT this academic year...

the basketball team was better coached than the football team. I think we fired the main culprit for that and made an excellent hire and that will not be the case again next year. I am more optimistic about our football team next year than I am our basketball team.
I believe it is much harder for a Clemson basketball coach to win the ACC than it is for a Clemson football coach. I am in the minority here (at least vocally) in that I support both Dabo and Brownell and am happy they are Clemson's coaches. Obviously if I had to choose 1 I pick Dabo. Dabo is a future HOFer and Brad won't be. Dabo is a one-man institution and I am thankful he is our coach. I am not "thankful" for Brownell but I am happy with him as our coach.

Wish I could say the same. There is no doubt that Brownell is a good guy and he cares for our players but Clemson will probably never win a conference title under him.

Or anybody else that we pay less than 5 million per year. Not just on CBB because no previous coach has ever sniffed one.

12 team playoff and almost everybody is returning.
Basketball had their most talented and experienced team in the last 15 years and couldn't make it past winning the opening game of the ACC Tournament and could not win a game in the 64 team playoff. Also, the team is basically gone and we are rebuilding.

Our path to the ACC championship in football was much easier than BB.

We played the entire field in basketball, including a nationally elite team, and won a higher percentage of games.
In football, we played the worst of an already down conference. We were barely competitive despite our great offensive effort in our playoff game thanks to our terrible defense.
And our McNeese fiasco (terrible embarrassment) was on par with what Louisville did to us in football at home.

Louisville and McNeese aren't on par with each other.

which is much easier to do.
Playing the entire ACC at least once in basketball, given how bad this year's ACC was by historical and current standards, gave the false impression that we were better than we actually were.
Basketball has a huge 64 team playoff and we lost to a far more inferior team who wasn't close athletically to Clemson. Playoff games are much more important than regular season games, especially with a 64 team playoff. The Louisville loss was not on par with the McNeese State loss. Not even close.
Two ACC teams made the 12 team playoffs in football, one who we beat in the ACC Championship with our top two running backs injured.
Texas, the team we lost to in the playoffs, made the final 4 of the playoffs. McNeese State lost badly in the field of 32 after beating us. Texas was a far superior team relatively to McNeese State. Clemson was not close in either game until near the end of each game.
Clemson football was relatively young this year as evidenced by the fact that we have the highest amount of returning production in the country. Clemson basketball was an extremely experienced team this year with the highest expectations in the last 15 years and as evidenced by the fact that basically the entire team is gone and next year is a rebuild.

As are your attempts to downgrade our basketball season and pump up our football season.

Brad is good, but he seems to have peaked. If we’re happy with having a good regular season when the ACC is down and then fizzling out in the post season, mission accomplished. If we want consistent success, time for a change.
