Two things:
1) How is that not something he can address in game?
2) I thought he called the plays… why would he be frustrated with the offensive staff if he calls the plays?

Pitt had one of worst pass defenses in the nation but a very good run stop defense. Go figure. My patience has run out with Riley. SC OC doing a much better job.

No real translation, he's not happy with the booth and from some accounts from the game not happy with Goodwins lack of passion and firing up the defense. Gonna be some coaching changes for sure.

Dabo was right next to Wes at the end of the coaching jumping around like BV box the entire 4th quarter. I guess he truly believes they need that. As for Wes, I don’t think Dabo realized how important that was when he hired Wes. Wes is a thinker and a scheme guy, not a hard nosed football coach. I think Wes is good for the team, just not an on the field coach.

I feel like he only promoted Wes to keep BV from taking him to Oklahoma. From what I’ve heard he is some kind of defensive genius.

I can see how his style defense would be good in the NFL where emotion is alot less needed and you have guys that are the best of the best and the mismatches are alot less impactful.
In college football passion and playing with fire overcomes alot, bend but don't break only works if you have ELITE pass rush, and there are mismatches galore.

I'm sure Riley is calling the plays, that's why he was brought there. But I would be frustrated too, Pitt played 1 on 1 coverage all game and stacked the box against the run. Even if they blitzed the fade was always there. That was one game they could've stayed aggressive

They play solid man coverage. They totally locked down Louisville when I first noticed it.

the OL was a complete train wreck so it's not like Cade had all day to stand around back there and look for open receivers.
My frustration was how conservative the play calling got in the third quarter when we were sitting on a lead, playing not to lose, and trying to burn clock.

That’s all this coaching staff does anymore on defense and offense, play not to lose, instead of aggressive attack win ball.

The zone defense the DBs are playing is absolutely killing us...

partly because the DBs don't know who to cover and the DL isn't getting to the QBb. That's a bad combination.

Our wideout room is pretty promising. Cades legs can open up guys downfield, plus being worried about Mafah. All of this, though, is contingent on the offensive line improving by a significant amount.

was Dabo at the game? did he watch the same 2nd half that we all did? Getting old to hear him make obvious , stupid revelations after the games are over instead of being a coach and adjusting in game when it matters.

Dabo was correct on this one. Pitt was giving us 10 yards any time we wanted it and we refused to take it. 3 shots over the middle produced 2 TD's and an overthrow of another TD, yet we never did it again. One of the steadfast rules of offensive football is : "If you are successful with something, keep doing it until the defense adjusts and stops it."

I'll preface this by saying I HATE Steve Spurrier, but I do respect him as a play caller. One of his first games at USuC he ran the same fade route from the same formation, 7 consecutive plays. The defense never adjusted. I remember his halftime presser and the reporter asked him about it. He looked at her and said, "It was successful 6 of the 7 times and would have been 7 for 7 if our WR didn't drop the other one. It's not my job to tell the opposing coaches to adjust; it's my job to find the mismatches, and that was one." The man could expose defenses.

i agree with the Dabo obvious statements after the game.........do something in the moment.......we (fans) aren't going to give you credit for simply mentioning something we all saw and not doing anything about it at the time. its too late after the game, it actually makes you look incompetent (coach)
regarding wesco dont know why people seem to keep saying portal.....dabo pays to retain and texas/Bama/ Miami ......are all losing there QB's......he would be much better off staying at Clemson cade will be one of the top QB's next year.

Maybe Dabo is not calling the plays. That has been speculated by Tigernetters. Is it possible that these Tigernetters were WRONG? Say it is not so!!!!
