5 million base pay, 2 million if he wins the ACC and the 4 million dollar balance if he wins the NC.
Anything else is money we could use to be paying better players.

I don't hate it either, but the man changed the trajectory of our school. He really did. He made us into a global brand because of the revenue created by the football program. He's the best ROI the state of SC has ever seen.

forget or just take for the granted. He deserves criticism for his hubris, rigid self inflicted handicaps, spitefully stubborn extreme approach of indifference regarding the TP & NIL reflected in his intentionally myopic perspective and claiming BB's grandson GA 4th string QB as his token TP acquisition but he earned the right to do so. Quit bitching about his salary...the football programs generates millions while sustaining the other parasitic athletic programs and pays those gd salaries that generate not a gd thing. DABO appears to have been lazy, rested on his successes, the whole staff appears to have taken a sabbatical during DJU's God awful sophomore year and he's been slow to correct these mistakes but he did put us on the map 6 CFP 2 NC. Anyway, please refrain from whining about his salary..it screams ignorance and is evidence of MSM indoctrination.

I agree. The part of it that’s a little unnerving is that Dabo is a brand in himself. Clemson is tied to it and he definitely built the Clemson brand in a huge way but he is kinda like Mike Gundy at Okie state in the way that he’s had so many memorable quotes (BYOG, Roy Bus, Buy stock in Clemson, All in, etc.)
When Gundy leaves Ok St, they won’t get near as much attention. I don’t think it would be as severe for us as it would for them, but Dabo needs to win at the highest level again in order to soften the blow when he steps down; whenever that may be.

Of the contract. Mark Stoops makes $9MM a year.. does he deserve? No, but that's the market at the time of when he signed the deal to avoid going elsewhere.
I have no issue with how much Dabo makes.

I didn’t have an issue with it when he was producing 11 million dollar results. We are getting a 5 million dollar performance for that higher price and Dabo has zero incentive to make hard decisions or do what it takes to win because either way he’s a winner. He’s the only one that is winning right now

Name a $5mil a year coach you woukd hire? Beamer makes close to $6.5mil, you rather him vs Dabo? Norvell makes $10mil, see what FSU is getting. How about Purdue coach, he makes just over $4mil but is 1-8, guess that is the type coach you want?
You could get Lebby from Miss St for $4.25m plus bonuses but he is 2-8. So who you gonna go with? I think I will stick with Dabo.

He should be paid in cryptocurrency…a Clemsoncoin somehow tied to our program and NIL…that way the direct value of “Clemson’s stock” will be directly pegged to his salary.

Seems odd that he would go out and spend $2m per year on an OC and $1m on an OL coach before they ever contributed at Clemson but won’t pay NIL to a top DE, QB or LT until after they contribute.

He brings a lot more than 11 mil to our school. He has put Clemson on the map and not just football even if he never wins another ACC or National title. Should enjoy every win.

Our recruiting is not doing great, and the brand equity is evaporating b/c Dabo is failing to change. And its not even a big change to what he is currently doing.

I don’t ever remember Dabo demanding a raise or even wanting to renegotiate his salary. He was voluntarily give this salary by the Board of Trustees. I imagine that some of the people now complaining about his salary were backing it when it was awarded.

Incorrect. Balch Sports Agents & Attorneys negotiated this deal and took the University lawyers to the cleaners. When the deal was inked the firm threw a quiet but well deserved party to celebrate their percentage of the contract. Yes, of course it was approved by the board. 10 year deals seldom work out. At the highest level, the NFL has done it one time for Jon Gruden and it was a massive mistake. Andy Reid is the best and highest paid coach in all of professional sports in the US and he has a 5 year deal. Just because another school is stupid enough to do a 10 year contract does not mean you have to follow suit. Sarkisian signed a monster deal with Texas but it's for 7 years. Schools have gotten smarter and the 10 year deal is basically a thing of the past for 99% of the schools. Meanwhile, Lane Kiffin makes 9 million per year in a six year deal. AD at Ole Miss deserves a raise for helping to pull that off.

Dabo's 6 playoff appearances 4 championship games and 2 national championships are probably worth $30 million a year. Clemson way underpaid Dabo so things are balancing out.

Dabo has done, and continues to do, great things at Clemson. He helps youngsters become men and has very few problems with the players.
On top of that, he’s led the Tigers to 2 nattys and a boatload of ACC Championships and post-season wins.
Dabo has my full support … I wouldn’t trade him for anyone. All things considered on and off the field… IMO he’s the best value in college football.

I would also be interested in where you are getting the 30 million per year number for nattys.
So at what point does he start being held accountable for the decline since 2018?

a lot more than he makes at Clemson.
I'm not disputing your opinion but I'd like you to consider the economics. College professors make a fraction of what Dabo makes. Those who teach our children make half of what professors make.
There are tens of thousands of teacher but only one Dabo. The demand for a coach who has proven he can recruit and develop nation championship players and actually win a national championship are rare.
I'm delighted that Dabo has continued here at Clemson. I wouldn't trade him for Saban in his prime or none of the others. He is a perfect fit for Clemson's integrity, personality and his credentials are unimpeachable.
I'm guessing our opinions are different.
