Dabo: Expectation versus appreciation??

Dabo said we should "appreciate" winning; not "expect" it. Well.....that's perhaps closer to accurate if he were coaching pop-warner. Go out there, have a good time, run through the parent tunnel after the game, have some orange slices and juice boxes, and dance when you win. Appreciate the win but don't focus on it. Well....this is not pop-warner, coach. This is a business. A business where we invest hundreds of millions of dollars in facilities; where we spend millions just to build a sidewalk that the players walk on 7 days a year to enter the locker room; where the coach is paid $11 million a year; where "the brand" impact on the overall University is at stake. So - yes - we do EXPECT to win. Having fun and dancing after beating Florida Atlantic and appreciating that is not good enough.

The overall thought of appreciate it versus expecting seems very connected to the lack of fire, passion, and intensity on this team. Every one of them should be EXPECTING to win, and not be satisfied when we don't.

Someone needs to show him some clips of the fans from the Hatfield days. Clemson fans as a whole have gone soft if anything.

Yes. We don’t pay a football coach $11 million to go 6-6. He’s a second highest paid coach in the nation because we expect him to be competing for championships every year. His defensiveness and pointing to his past successes is a symptom. There’s something deeply wrong in the program and with Dabo at the moment, and Dabo knows it.
