It'll be interesting to see how long Norvell sticks with DJ once he throws a few six yard ground balls on ten yard outs. That is, if he starts at all. I don't take that as a given, unless he has a signed contract saying he will be the starter.

I really hoped DJ would have been great. He wasn't. All the fist fighting in the world by "Big Dave" won't change that. All the drama just draws attention to what should not be a focal point. I don't think that crap helps DJ in any way, nor does it help FSU's image.

DJ's dad loves his son. Any father would in his position. However, D.J. hasn't lived up to his billing, and this has created frustration for Clemson, Oregon State and his father, and running from school to school won't help that. If D.J. loses his confidence after throwing a few picks, Norvell will bench him.
He is known for this. FSU is taking a risk on him, hoping for another 13-0 season, which historically doesn't happen in College Football (2 consecutive undefeated teams). My prediction? FSU will go 8-4 at best, possibly missing the Playoffs. Then it is supposed that Big Dave will blame the NFL coaches for his son's inability to play at that next level. Not all 5-stars translate to greatness, and this appears to be a classic case.

Clemson football since 1972, and while we may have had some bad offenses at other times, during the DJ years, it just seemed like the offense was trying to drag a huge boat anchor down the field all the time. And since, for some reason that probably will remain forever buried, Dabo was NOT going to put anybody else in the game, we were stuck with DJ. Now, some may say that we didn't HAVE another option at QB. I say, we were reduced to being a running team with him at QB anyway, one of the other guys could hand the ball off just as well as him, and may have been a swifter runner. He was certainly slow and ponderous. I'm just glad he is Bretfsu's headache now, and not ours. FSU fans better stock up on those dime novels!

DJ and KB had few good games but most help us back. DJ last game at Clemson had Dabo put in Cade second half just 2 points by Cade offensive and Clemson probably bump TCU out of playoffs after KSU beat them.

All that smack talking was as funny as it gets, but it's very understandable for me to see where DJ's dad was coming from. I don't think that many people are going to stay quiet when they hear someone talking crap about their kid, I know that if I was in a situation like that I would get as bent out of shape as a parent can possibly get.
A parents love for their kid is something that can cause them to explode to an astronomical level to where they would rip the head off someone and chit down their neck if they were close enough to get their hands on them.
Someone disrespecting a kid in their parent's presence is something that can get them seriously fck up. Kids and pets are two things that can cause a parent/pet owner to jump straight off the deep end without a shred of hesitation!!!

Should be interesting which DJ plays for FSU. Mostly terrible at Clemson but actually look decent in Oregon State most of the time. Back then ACC played defense and PAC 12 not so much.
