If the man is hurt, I think its a disservice to both he and the team to trot him out there. That is on the coaches though. Either way, hope we throw everything at SMU early and often. Playing not to lose has been a hallmark of this team the last few years. Let's leave it all on the field this time Dabo...win or lose. Go Tigers!

Seriously doubt his playing time will change, but hope I'm wrong and Haynes gets more work.

Any of those other cats can shove a nose in a crack...Mafah is hurt, no quickness in the hole, no burst, no finishing a run...Shipley or Gallman and we beat SC handly!

I think it's a complete failure of coaching that he is playing.

and I'm a big fan of Mafah. Before his injury became apparent I wanted him to get 30 carries per game.
he's obviously hurt, he's been hurt, and it is hurting our team that we are playing him while he's hurt. It's also harming his recovery.
I've heard lots of excuses about this. Like: "the backup RB's can't block" and "our backups can't protect the ball"
Well sorry but if that's true then that means our coaching staff has completely failed.

He will play entire game and unfortunately the first time he falls down a yard short of a 1st down on a 3rd down I sincerely hope he is removed and not reinserted.
A good case can be made, unfortunately, that his constant avoidance of contact was big part of the loss yesterday. Every game he does it and if he is playing in a game I fgotta believe Che has full bill of health!! Dabo holds guys with a paper cut, it’s true and you all know it, yet plays Mafah when it’s obvious he cannot take heavy contact or any at all.
Another back has to step up and fill his role, starting with SMU

If Hayes "isn't ready" according to the staff, then that's a huge admission of failure on the part of the staff. Unacceptable.

I was on the fence about Mafah playing.

There's some emotional motivations: Dabo favors upperclassmen and Mafah wants to play and I'm sure many fans want him to play even though what we want isn't a factor.
There's also some logistical reasons. He knows this system, this playbook and the team needs that. Mafah knows exactly when to release the ball on the option read. He seldom to never misses a block and he probably catches the ball better than any of the younger players.
Emotions are insignificant. In life we do what's best for our families and Clemson is a family. I believe Dabo always does what's best so as much anger as it brought when I saw Phil running toward the LOS with the ball in his hand and refusing to lower his shoulder to drive forward for a couple extra yards, when he stepped out of bounds rather than cutting inside for a extra yards or turned his back to prevent his shoulders from contact with a tackler I got over it.
