Got in a new crock pot, have not had one since my home burned.
2 1/2 quarts is plenty for the two of us.

Tonight is pintos, corn, mashed tators, tomatoes, biscuits with cheese.

Go Tigers !

I was a lucky kid as on the Mill Hill my Grandma lived across the street.
My Mom made great biscuits but worked in the Mill every day.
Grandma made biscuits "every day" for "many" as many counted on her for great food.

I make biscuits these days as my Bride is not into that.
I use Bisquick.

A pack will make 3 nice biscuits (not 6) in a few minutes, very easy and very tasty. I add in yeast flakes to make them super healthy.

The deal is to remember this is not cornbread. Stir as little as possible to make dough and not batter.

Absolutely love our 2 crockpots. We use them 2-3 times a week.

Crockpot pintos is as close as you can get to pintos slow cooked on a wood stove. I add enough red pepper flakes to give them a little heat and cook them all day.

Edit: Forgot to add you need a cat head biscuit to sop the bean juice.

We have an "insta pot" and love it! Can cook chicken (raw) stew in like 20 minutes. Crock pot is good too.

Yum! I really use mine a lot once the weather cools off. I usually make enough to get us through several nights, because it seems like the food tastes even better the next day.

Crock Pot cooking is the only way I will eat cubed steak. Throw it in with a can of cream of mushroom soup and and some water and cook the heck out of it until it falls apart.

the fragrances permeate the whole house. We don't have a big house.

We're going to make white chicken chili on Wednesday and that savory fragrance's gonna start climbing the stairs to my home office around 2 p.m. By 3 it's gonna smell like ... victory ... up here.

My crock pot comes out of the cabinet Thanksgiving weekend as the turkey transitions to BBQ and Brunswick stew or gumbo, then resurfaces (the crock pot, not the turkey) every 8-10 days all winter. Nothing like sitting at work knowing dinner is ready as soon as you get home, especially when you're the cook!
