I think it's by choice though. He's made his money and probably managed it well to where he's not just having to take any offer that comes up.
At this point, what is he playing for, ya know? Maybe to get a ring if he gets on a contender? At this point he's not considered HOF by stats and IDK if he could achieve that level of play for 5-10 years.
We love to watch him but if he's not feeling that drive to continue trucking I can blame him for not wanting to suit up unless it's the right opportunity.

Not really, since there is a big advantage of signing him after week 1. So it's not like there have not been teams that were interested, but just waiting until after the first week of the season.

I don't know him personally but I've heard from people who do know him that he's not just going to sign anywhere. He's made some money, he's got his young family and may keep playing if the opportunity is right but he isn't going to just go kick around and play in a new city every year for a decade solely to keep his football career going. I think he has a mindset like Ben Boulware when he got signed by the 49ers and was cut a week later, he just said "this is silly" and decided to hang it up.
