Clemson running back target Kobe Pryor is the "total package"
Kobe Pryor will announce his college decision on May 18th, and whichever school he decides to attend is getting the total package. Pryor (6-0 200) is a 3-star 2020 running back out of Cedartown (GA) who made it known Tuesday that he has made his decision on his college commitment and has privately committed to that coaching staff. Pryor said he made his decision on Monday. Full Story » |

He does sound genuinely humble. Who is he expected to commit to?

If he is the total package, why do all 3 services have him as a mid-range 3*. Hope he picks Auburn and we get Ngata instead. I know star ratings are not the end all and be all, I just don't want us to blow our best chanced ever at signing the #1 class.

Seriously? If this coaching staff wants him, I want him to commit to Clemson.

Yes, but Etienne has blazing speed, and this guy apparently does not. The total package? How?

Sounds like a great kid, and the film doesn't look bad

but he ran a verified 4.83 40-yard dash at the Opening Regional in March. That's pretty slow for a RB.

could be he runs the same speed in full pads tho

sometimes those 40 speeds are slightly deceptive. WE all know speed kills
but a running back that can run through tackles is GOLD.

I watched his film and this guy is slow. Not just top end slow but lack quickness. Also, does not show anything other then mediocre power. I honestly don't see what Tony Elliot sees there....seems like a pick to just fill a slot.

Do we really need to just fill slots? I mean, I'm sure this guy is a great person, but he lacks elite speed and big-time power?? So where do we go from here? What's the attraction? I'm totally open-minded.

I've seen them both play, and think Ngata is without a doubt better in almost every aspect. Pryor is really strong for his size and could end up being pretty big (I've seen his height at either 5'11" or 6'0", and he could end up being 220). However, he's very slow for a RB (as you saw elsewhere, his 40 time is about 4.8), is not elusive at all, and doesn't have very good hands. I could see him being a decent power back/full back type player, but I don't think he'll be a star at running back unless they can improve those issues. Ngata is a speed back, and is absolute lightning and very elusive (as you can see from the youtube clip). He also has fantastic hands and a lot of experience catching out of the backfield (last year he had nearly 700 receiving yards and 900 rushing yards with 20 total TDs (10 for each). He's also a fantastic punt/kick returner, and reminds me of Jacoby Ford in that regard. He's not nearly as strong though and is significantly smaller.
Maybe we take both (I don't think they'd withdraw Ngata's offer), but if we can have only one, I want Ngata. (that's not even going into the fact that his brother is part of the family and we should honor promises to family).

You can't teach speed, and regardless of his size he's going to be hit by guys who outweigh him by over 100 pounds. I still don't see the attraction here. For Wofford or Furman maybe, but Clemson---I just don't see it. Am I missing something?

I hope he chooses wisely, because Clemson just picked up a 5 star RB....but sometimes a 3 star is a diamond in the rough!

Considering his speed, he's not the "total package".
Does he have a teammate they are targeting for 2021 or 2022?

That's exactly what people said about Wayne Gallman. He was a 4* but most thought we only offered because of Robert Nkemdiche and Gallman worked out pretty good for us. Let the coaches evaluate the players and we can just enjoy the ride.
The Best is yet to come. Go Tigers.

The hint most missed if he doesn’t have his speed where it needs to be he would be great where ever you put him. The best blocking slot back/TE will be gone and we need a replacement. (Garrett Williams) He would be perfect for that.

Okay, then recruit him for that. Let's not pretend that he is a Clemson-level RB. He isn t!
