I don't understand why people have so much hatred for this young man. People point to the Arkansas game where he had 3 personal fouls but forget that they all were not unsportsmanlike or even solid calls. Throwing the ball into the stands was a dumb move but the other two were just plays where a guy was playing with intensity. He was just nomiated as a 2nd team SEC player and people on here act like they wouldn't take him on our team. The whole incident with him cursing at Dabo isn't more than hearsay or a fabricated story that we cannot prove. He plays hard and I would have loved to have him on Clemsons sideline because he actually has a backbone while on the field. Was his penalty in the Clemson game uncalled for? Sure, but it wasnt like he flipped the guy off and kicked him in the face mask. He's the kind of guy who everyone hates when he's on the other team but would be kissing his feet while he's on their team. It's silly to act like he isn't a good football player who makes "2" plays a game as someone stated earlier.

He is one of my favorite South Carolina players ever. I love his intensity and work ethic.
If we had 11 guys with the heart DJ has, no one would ever score on us.

I'm a SCAR fan and Andre Ellington is my favorite Clemson player. Is that ok. I've always liked players on teams I despise. Loved Landry and Staubch, but hated Cowboys.

WHy don't you take the time and write out all of his arrests and or aggregious plays that warrant labeling someone as a thug. We act like people here don't get in trouble and have some "holier than though" mentality which in turn leaves us cowering and weak on the field.

Thug Noun 1.A violent person, esp. a criminal.

What ego? Honestly the guy plays great on the field and likes to talk a little trash but off the field he's not a bad person but I guess we can continue to make excuses two weeks after our game and continuously Bash one young man.

Quit blowing smoke up our chimney. Tillman Hall is still Tillman Hall in honor of Clemson's REAL founder who located Clemson in the foothills in order to get it as far away from certain demographic groups as possible and still be legally in SC.
BTW -
How many African-American student body Presidents has Clemson had in the past 20 years?
For that matter, how many African-American Homecoming Queens (female variety) has Clemson had in the past 20 years?

I despise DJ Swearinger, and I have loooong before his hit on Andre. Having said that, he is exactly the type of player that we need on our D, we have a bunch of soft church going pansies who are scared of their own shadow...I'm sorry but I want killers and goons on that side of the ball. Maybe it's just me...

I think Tig was a very solid player on that side of the ball and he doesn't display that kind of demeanor. I'll take the well coached and talented player over one such as DJ. Funny that people only remember him for his dirtyness, even though most of those dirty plays, the offensive player is still picking up positive yardage, no thanks, USuC can keep'em.

a Clemson fan. Clemson has had plenty of hard hitting players throughout the years, but they weren't low character guys and they didn't go out and get personal fouls almost every single game. Making one or two plays a game and getting personal foul afterwards, doesn't make a player good.

I think it's safe to say DJ makes more than 1 or 2 plays per game seeing as how he's been doing it all year long. 71 tackles 2 picks one fumble taken for a TD. He had one just plain stupid penalty all year and that was the hit on Ellington. His horse collar is something that happens. He got suspended for hitting high (I guess Ed Reed has no character)and got another 15 on a questionable high hit. He also got one for throwing a ball into the stands after said questionable call.

What does this even mean? How can Dj "put up" and satisfy your demands so you don't hurt him. I am positive that you need to clarify so a misunderstanding doesn't result in you hurting DJ. That would be a tragedy.

Hey troll, Inferiority complex reactions are useless because they do not solve the problem at hand, but only serve to guard one's self-esteem by avoiding the task or by placing the blame for the failure outside of the individual's control (chad morris). Although the inferiority complex may be seen as comparing individuals or groups as one being superior to another, it more closely describes how one deals with a fear of failure.
You're dealing terribly with the 4 losses. Get over yourself.
