DRad should have got him into admin, as his coaching days and ways are obsolete. And I hope I am wrong but doubt it!

as long as Jack makes a concerted effort to re-shape his recruiting strategy. The majority of Clemson's baseball team needs to be from South Carolina. This kids looks like a good pickup and fine pitcher though.
Recruiting heavily from the northeast, and minimally from SC is how we got our butts handed to us by South Carolina the last go-round. It's also how Ray Tanner built their program and won back to back national championships.
50% of South Carolina's national championship teams rosters were Diamond Devils players (South Carolina based showcase baseball program for those that aren't familiar). Guess how many Diamond Devil players Jack had recruited before last year? Zero. Tanner went after the best players in South Carolina, the same ones Jack likes to pretend aren't "good enough" to play in his program then beat Jack with them. In fact, South Carolina has been beating the stuffing out of Clemson with players from OUR state ever since. Our state is loaded with baseball talent....no need to recruit so heavily out of the northeast where the competition and overall talent is quite frankly weak in comparison. We need more players from the south, South Carolina, and less from parts up north.

Was it really too much work to look at the roster before posting this? Well, here.
http://www.clemsontigers.com/SportSelect.dbml?SPID=103712&SPSID=657822
There are TWO players from the Northeast. 28 of the 35 players are from SC, GA and NC. Most of the rest are Florida. Good Lord there are alot of lazy Clemson fans who talk a lot.

Yea I don't get why ppl say that...maybe in the past we have had a few more on the team from up north but the last couple of years we have def started recruiting more of SC and the south, although I think we just missed on some guys...

Name-calling, really? Re-read what I wrote, you misunderstood the context.
Clemson's lack of recruiting in-state has hurt Clemson's W-L's over recent years. Specifically, I pointed to South Carolina's success, and our lack-of-success over the same period.
Did you bother to look at the roster's from those teams before you posted? I'm thrilled that there are only 2 players from the northeast on our CURRENT roster. Hopefully we're landing enough in-state talent to turn the tide.....Rome wasn't built in a day, and 2 recruiting classes won't change Clemson's baseball program overnight. I figured someone would spazz-out and totally misunderstand what I was saying....congrats to you.

I barely follow CLEMSON baseball, and never follow recruiting, but the point Reckless makes about Diamond Devils is interesting. Any thoughts on that? I didn't see that point addressed, but just mostly saw name-calling.
Thoughts?

Tanner built a winner with local SC kids. Elite baseball talent is a lot more dispersed than it was 5-10 years ago, so I'm not sure you can simply sign a bunch of Diamond Devil players and expect to win a National Championship anymore. That being said, High School coaching relationships in SC are also a very important factor in the recruiting pipeline. Jack's personality has hurt him with those relationships, and that's going to take some time to repair.
I've talked with several coaches who think Jack's abrasive and arrogant, but they like Ray Tanner. It looks like they're trying to right the ship, but it will take time.

Virginia has 12 players on their roster from NY,NJ and PA. Not sure why you think recruiting in the North is a bad idea. I agree the South should be your first look but there is some good talent in the North if you know where to look.

I don't think it's a bad it if its used to spot-recruit once in a while. What I'd like to see is a strong focus on keeping the best in-state talent home, specifically away from the Gamecocks and on Clemson's roster. I doubt Clemson needs to recruit much from the North if they take care of business in South Carolina. Think we're saying the same thing.

Well he's wrong since I only had to look at a few names down our list of recruits before I found one playing for the Diamond Devils. Was looking over our commits last night - don't remember which it was but immediately recalled Reckless's obviously ill informed rant.

Somebody needs to brush up on their reading skills.
There currently are 3 Diamond Devils players committed to play for Clemson!!!! Why bother responding????
I concede, you missed the context of my original post, are confused, and now look silly .

Question for you

specifically. Why is that that people like you constantly jump all over anybody that has a different opinion than your own? Why are you so threatened? Why are you so angry?
Tigernet used to be a place where you could post an idea/opinion etc...without fear of being attacked. Instead, it's turned into a place where statements and facts are misrepresented, misunderstood, and then thrown back at you in some angry rebuttal. I'm curious, is there some sort of "mind thought police" course that teaches students to engage in a low-grade intellectual group think that I missed during my education? It's really amazing/scary how some people think and act when they don't agree with someone else's point of view. Nothing I said was ill-informed. It was opinion, based on facts, but still my opinion. Should I qualify my opinions with you before I post them? Now, that is funny.

Play on a national stage....recruit nationally. Omaha is an hour behind us so you would still have time to call Corbin and tell him he needs more 'players from Tennesee' before the team dinner.

'oh and by the way Tim, not only did we run Jack out of town, you will also need to commit to signing 5 Diamond Devils (or Demons or whatever they are) each year.' LOL
