With NIL and the portal being legal now how exactly is it corrupt? Much rather be on board with one of the 2 major conferences than on the outside of it shouting rabble rabble rabble on sinking lifeboats

Honestly, I would of thought Miami and Va
Tech over UVA , in that grouping...ut I don't know if its only a 4 team addition or what the actual guidelines are for the inclusion or addition to these conferences...

Here's the theory....

SEC wants to add schools in the states of North Carolina and Virginia. They prefer to add the state universities first. UNC and Virginia can't draw TV viewers, so the SEC teams would have to accept a reduction in the conference payout per school to add those two. But Clemson and FSU bring big ratings. So ESPN has told the SEC if they want to add those two state universities, they need to add FSU and Clemson to "fund" the addition of the weak sisters. More or less. That's the theory, anyway. Not saying I agree with it.

I think, frankly, the SEC members would prefer LESS competition rather than MORE. That's why they want UNC and UVA.
