Completely off the wall but why is it that so-called "country boys" from Mt.

Pleasant are the biggest d-bags on the planet, let alone SC? For starters, there is no such thing as a country boy from Mt. Pleasant. Even if he does own 5 acres just outside of town limits (big deal). Oh, and yes, he's a coot. He's a mega coot.

But I have to explain the legal reasons to perhaps the biggest blowhard phony "country boy" in SC for the next hour or so as to why he can't do what he wants to do on a piece of property he may or may not own next to mine (restrictive covenants are a beyotch).

Not sure if I'll be able to resist throat punching this jerk or not. One thing I will surely bring up, is that Son of RB knocked his precious son out of a FB game last season. So there's that.

Rant over.

You'd have to live in Mt. Pleasant to understand. One Friday evening at Red's on Shem Creek should do it for you.

Ask them and they don't live in Mt Pleasant anymore...them self entitled daddy's money made prickets live in "North" Mt. Pleasant. They also think they own the fishing holes around the upper wando and the beaches of North Capers and South Bulls. Big talk until you buck up...then they go away all huffy puffy and tuck tail like the chickens they are.

would be more likely to have a few country boys. Seems like the daddy’s money people are buying 2 bedroom ranch houses in the Old Village or Hobcaw for a million and a half dollars.

Well that’s because the vast majority of people living here are transplants who know nothing about the state of SC. That’s quickly becoming the case for most of the Charleston area. It is its own bubble of crazy folk.

That’s why I buy property where my nearest neighbor is a half of a mile away or further. If they want to be closer, I’d have to sell if acreage. If I want to skinny dip in my 6 acre pond in the front yard it’s no big deal. If I want to throw up a pole barn in the woods no HOA to tell me what I can’t do with my property. Neighbors suck. People suck. I invested in privacy. If I want to let 10 acres go to seed and sell off as bay I can do that. If I want to build a bonfire visible from the ISS, I do that. If I want to go outside and practice with my AR, I do that. No neighbors to complain!

It’s not like I want to junk the place up. I keep it classy. Except the oil spot where my tractor blew the transmission. I have since chemically removed that spot. I also added a fruit orchard.

The only problem was I had to pay to have cable ran down my 1/2 mile driveway and I could have bought a great used sports car for the cost. I needed high speed internet for streaming.

Lesson is, buy remote. Buy enough acreage that no one can encroach on your slice of heaven.

Same here. I bought 8 acres and built a house on it in 2019. Behind me is 1000s of acres of hunting and farm land owned by various people. Salkehatchie swamp runs through the middle of all the land behind me. So no worries of development.

I’ve never met anyone from the greater Charleston area that called themself a Country Boy. Probably because I’m from Barnwell.

Come a calling! LOL.

They say it's like: you have 2 chickens, the Socialist government says give one of your chickens to a needy person..

And if you do but complain then they take your 2nd chicken and all the eggs.

Wait, maybe that's Communism or Marxism.

Geez, they're all bad if not what our Founders gave us, if we are smart enough to keep it, which is looking mighty iffy.

I grew up on Johns Island in the 60s and 70s and I agree - there is no such thing as a country boy from Mt Pleasant. Maybe some wannabees but that’s about as close as they get. Wando boys were some of the preppiest around when I was at Clemson. Spent a lot of time over there recently while my sister was in the hospital, rehab and hospice. Just another reason I don’t like to go over there.

But are you saying Ronnie Boals son knocked out your neighbors son during a game? Or the other way around? That’s pretty interesting.

I know some people who still have a 100+ acres and still farm corn and raise chickens in Mount Pleasant. Granted they built a whole neighborhood around their place but I’d still consider them country boys.

I was hunting deer and dove Mt. Pleasant before there was a north Mt. Pleasant. The only things north were Boone Hall and Snee Farm. I killed my first deer right here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/8U9VAYwa4vECGsJG9 before the highway and bridges went in. So yeah, there are country boys from Mt. Pleasant and before you go around blanketly calling them all d-bags, consider that the only thing that ruined the country aspect of Mt. Pleasant was out of towners moving there. Including those from Ridgeland. It's even worse now with all the out of state teleworkers moving in.

I realize that a particular person has ruffled your feathers and that you're unaware of the country aspect of Mt. Pleasant, but please take it easy on the pot shots towards the many you don't know.
